Hey Zoomba, Things are going good over here at Vectorform. The projects a pretty cool and I'm learning a lot. The Microsoft Surface is awesome, by the way. I want one for my house! :) Here is a slightly outdated pic of my computer. Since then I've added a better RAID controller (Adaptec) and a second DVD-Burner. I think I might take your advice and add 4 more gigs of RAM too. <img style="vertical-align: middle; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;" src="http://w

Zoomba, it's me Dark-Star! Good review, btw. I own an ASUS Radeon HD 4870 (512MB version) and I LOVE IT. Best card I've ever owned and it was well worth it. I play GRID a lot and the game runs all details on, 1920x1200 full 8xFSAA @ 80+fps. Most of my games I'm able to run at full details at 1920x1200. Only Crysis slow down at full detail, but if I take the detail level to HIGH the game is back to 60+ fps. Here are my stats in case others care: AMD Phenom 9950
is the panic button close to the red phone?
Indeed. Seems like they touched things that need not be touched. They didn't actually make anything better. Kind of took a step backwards. :/
I wrote the Tom's review. At Tom's we don't subscribe to the 7-10 scale. We'll go all the way to 1 if the game calls for it and we consider a game that just exists with no really good or bad points a 5. With that in mind consider an 8 an excellent score.
Thank you for shedding some light on Tom's rating system, Travis. That does make sens
This one is a little odd because he showers the game with praise and then gives it an 8 out of 10 for the score. That had me scratching my head.
Haha, yeah me too! I was like, huh?
Not to forget, Toms Hardware also posted a review yesterday from their home page. Here is the link: http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2008/02/18/sins_of_a_solar_empire_review/
Sweet! New forums! I like the changes a lot. :) Good job team!
The bidding war you started is a great idea. I'll have to try that! Thanks for the suggestion. hahaha That rocks!
great pictures guys!!
Amazing Predator17! Thanks for sharing. :) I can't help but laugh at all those ships.. lol WOW
I was talking to my brother the other day on the phone who lives out of state and he said that his wife HATES Sins! The reason, he won't stop playing it! lol Seems like this is going to be a trend here. lol IC and SD should update the box and put a relationship breaker warning on the box. Maybe have a rating system like the ESRB, but show a heart that has a crack down the middle.
I stayed up late last night playing Sins as well. My wife was wondering what I was planning on doing today, since it was late and she was going to bed with out me. :P I ended up saving me game just when it was getting good too. Man, I am tired today. I can't wait to get home so I can take a nap and resume my game. :)
Make sure you have "Show pre-release versions" unchecked and give that a try.
You'll find yourself saying, "Oh crap! What time is it!?!" and realize you're going to be very tired the next morning with an interesting story as to why. :) That explains my situation this morning. I played Sins way to late last night, and honestly, I'm looking forward to resuming my saved game when I get home from work, after a nap of course. :)
not a bad idea. :) In the mean time, just click on the stars background on the left or right side of the page then press Ctrl+Home to jump to the top of the page or Ctrl+End to jump to the bottom of the page. Not exactly a solution, but it'll do for now. I'll submit the idea to our forums developer. Thanks for the suggestion! :CONGRAT:
You can remap hot-keys to avoid some of those clicks to open those pesky screens. That might save you some time and a few clicks anyway. :/
Ahh very neat, Rylin! :CONGRAT:
I love the music with the video. :) Benny Hill. lol Gotta love it!
I don't think that is entirely true Annarar11. I am running wide screen (1900x1200) and I can select resolutions from 1024x768 all the way up, weather it be wide-aspect rations to standard 4:3 ratios.
Just right-click the game in SDC and go to 'Uninstall' :)
You are very welcome, hawk. Thank you for taking the time to comment. :)
That is a pretty similar setup to mine, except I'm running the standard GeForce 6800 256MB, and it runs pretty good if I have my detail level set to medium (at 1920x1200 2X AA). If I crank it up more then that, it looks awesome, but you'll notice some chopping. Runs great at medium.
