I had to uninstall Groupy (Groupy 2) today. I finally had to bite the bullet. I had a audio program that it did not want to play nice with, even though the ONLY setting I had in Groupy 2 was to use explorer.exe to use tabs. I also had new windows being created not within the same window, and dragging them into the original window I wanted it to be in was not working at all. I do not know what happened in the last update, but it broke it I think. It is now more problems for me than it is worth

So I am getting a periodically Groupy error on shutdown that it wont close, or a blank application name, but aside from that no issues on Start11 that I can see after the reinstall on November 30th. However, I did uninstall Start11 on Dec. 10th mainly because I installed a few programs and none of them appeared as "new" programs to pin. Only saw "suggested" apps listed. So being I was in a rush and needed to get several things done, I disabled Start11 to do what I needed to do quickly

I did a clean reinstall of Groupy 2 several weeks ago again, and 50% of the time, upon shutting down the computer, or rebooting, I do still get the GroupyCtrl is preventing the computer from shutting down. Eventually it goes away and does its thing. Just super annoying.

I did a search on this on the forums of other posts that were more involved, but this Thread seemed to be more simplistic of what I am going threw. Although I did uninstall Start11 so I do not have to have the error anymore, for now, until you tell me it is fixed in a later version. Everytime (everytime) I shutdown, I get a popup of the Powershell error and it does close itself eventually to turn off. When I uninstalled the program, it asked me to reboot. This time, the Powers

I edited the bat file and renamed Stardock\Groupy\ to Stardock\Groupy2\ and re-ran the bat, and it did what it needed to do. I had Malwarebytes exited as well. But for now, I am going to leave it uninstalled and see if I even miss it. It was only the last Groupy2 update that gave me that exe hanging when rebooting too. I always have all programs and windows closed before I shutdown for the night. When I do reinstall, I will let you know when I do, and if/when it comes back.

It says "Invalid uninstall control file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Groupy\Uninstall\uninstall.xml" My program is Groupy 2, so probably why it is kicking that error for 1. Secondly, I have Malwarebytes running in the background, and it did not like your CMD running.

Hi Basj, Using your link, here is my System information ( screenshot ). I don't have any crashes, so I don't have any dump files to send. I tried looking in the Event Viewer but since it is waiting for the program to end, there is no log for that listed. Have you had any luck yet for the backup regedit in case need to revert? Assuming you forgot about this post but thats fine. I am working heavy with Word now that I am in the Sept. season. Opening MS Word I had to do the same edit. Please tell the team to please please have a toggle to have a Global setting to have Groupy to ONLY have Explorer utilize the functionality to make this whole thing work easier without all this editing and checkbox'ing. I am going to try setting it to Grouping rules --> [Checked] Automatically group identical windows together unless they are already in another Group and see if that helps at all, as it was not checked before. BTW, the only thing I am using Groupy for, is to only have the Grouping rules set for "Block / sloow applications" for "explorer" [Checked] Only allow specified applications to be in a Group. I just want the Windows Explorer to use this benefit, not every program I use

Adding a new tab still is opening a new window in Groupy Stardock Forums

I am finding that more than 1/2 of the time, when clicking on the + button, next to the tab of the Explorer window, it opens up another window completely. I have to then, drag that window/tab into the other window/tab to connect them again. From there, it starts working again.

Your's acted a little different than mine though. I am using Office 365 Excel (Office16). I do not have a green bar at the top. As soon as I clicked on "Save", the Tabs showed up at the top. I did not Un-check the box in Groupy like you did in the video, that made your tabs show up. Mine showed up immediately as soon as I clicked on Save. Closing my XLS file and re-opening it did not show the tabs however. It was only on Saving the document that it did this anomoly I think. I can't ch

Groupy 2: Only allow Explorer to use Groupy in Groupy Stardock Forums

Setting the Grouping rules to "Block/allow applications" to "explorer", then selecting the Checkbox for "Only allow specified applications to be in a Group" mostly will make Groupy work just on Windows Explorer windows, but not all the time. If you open Microsoft Excel, you will not get any tabs.... right away. It is only when you save it as a file, Groupy will then assign Tabs to it. Why?? I did not tell it to do so. Change image/background color for Notification Tray icon area? in Skinning WinCustomize Forums

I am using Windows 10, with a new installation of Object Desktop, using the Windowblinds "Ice" skin. I am trying to find a way to edit the background color of the notification tray icon area, where the inactive icons go, but am unable to find the location in Skin Studio. Just installed the 1.17 beta and I have no complaints, still is better than Microsoft's heh. I have 2 monitors and I even noticed there was an option on Start8 to add to the other taskbar too, PERFECT! THANK YOU! What is crazy is I might just purchase a new computer with 8.1 preinstalled just knowing that you have this program working with 8.1 :)
