Start Was having a great game vs an unfair ai on a medium map. I am not a great starter but I tend to be able to come back after the initial wave of planet capture. So for the first half of the game the ai is hammering me on 3 or 4 fronts, its spending more money than I can imagine on pirates, I'm having trouble just holding on to my planets let alone being able to advance and fight him for his. So even though I'm a TEC rebel I'm forced to defend, slowly building, slowly s

I think everyone agrees that it is broken right now problem is how to fix it without breaking the back of the player who0's titan was destroyed. The ideas I like and or my own (havent read them all to be hoenst) 1) a cost/time increase every time you have to rebuild your titan. The more its destroyed the longer it takes to rebuild and the more it costs. 2) Level it is rebuilt with is half what it had been. Level 2 would come out as 1.

ah poor turn of phrase. I mean that the AI seems to surrender when it still has quite a lot of stuff/planets left and even when victory conditions arent met they still surrender. And I'm not entirely sold on the splinter faction concept. If they actually became multiple factions that warred with each other then yes. But why would you give a defeated faction something? Becoming vassals of you, giving you chunk of their income/ship supply also appeals to me. The

Its not the solar systems that arent at all realistic, its not the pirates, its not the lack of varsari. Its how empires are managed after defeat. I dont know but after I beat 1 empire in a larger game they arent actually defeated, the ai just shuts down. They dont lose anything else, nothing switches control, nothing else is destroyed but I dont know how a defeated empire still manages to maintain starbases and titans, not to mention fleets and numberous planets.

Can i just say that I sort of like this idea. I want a game mode in which you start with a titan and a new one is not buildable if you lose it. so you get a titan early but its a real risk to use it

I dont know if this is just me but it feels a lot like the performance has gotten worse. I've been playing against he AI building up huge fleets and taking them on and for the most parts have had 0 problems with lag but on my latest game 10 player ffa on a large map I've run into trouble just looking at my own fleet. I should add that there are only about 3 hard economic ai left (they were all economic, seems to be the strongest ai out there right now).

Thought so, needed confirmation. Quite a departure from the last games which were exclusive to stardock's platform for a long time. Glad they are now all on steam, I dislike juggling these services.

I am interested in preordering this game, I loved the initial even though it managed to suck up HOURS of my time whenever I played it. The thing is while it says the beta is requires steam will the full game? Basically I want the game on steam, I'm willing to wait for it to come up on steam if the current preorder doesnt activate on steam. Wouldnt mind jumping into the beta if this works as I think it does.
