Without seeing more of the game, it's hard to know what exactly to be excited for... but I do like the prospect of a new engine. Ever since the days of AotS and the Mantle engine, we were shown what APIs and game engines can do in terms of complexity and high unit count. If SoaSE 2 can leverage similar technology, it'll be amazing to see giant squadrons of fighters zipping around, turrets tracking them... oooh, can we get projectile tracking for amazing missile swarms? Serious

Yeah, saaaaame here. Do I like EGS? No. But, as much as I love SoaSE, it's a niche game and that's hard to publish - even for a publisher like Stardock. Epic throws money at people to put in on their platform, massively de-risking a venture like SoaSE. Plus, we will get a Steam release eventually - one thing EGS is actually good for is Early Access: it worked well for Hades. EGS acts as source of funding and building a small early access community, releasing on Steam opens the floodga

Almost every system bought after that usually offers at least a second core or hyperthreading. And strategy games are probably the best target for heavy multithreading that can be carried out on two cores - by having an AI and a simulation thread. Timing i

Thus they would be inbetween patrol boats and frigates.
Patrol boats != motorboats, as seen here - they are usually ~30m long. Corvette sizes are all over the place, there are some corvettes bigger than patrol boats,

I enjoyed the game but I've never understood why all the aliens in ME (and now ME2) all look like humans with masks on though...it just looks a bit silly.
Not all of them, though. The krogans, turians and volus, in my opinion are humanoid, but quite different, especially if you look at the general body structure instead of just the faces. The elcor and the hanar, however, are very, very non-human and 100% awesome (I wish we'd get

And if there's overlap between the elements he invented and the ones you can find in the expansion... then a jerk with an appropriately jerkish lawyer may see this as a reason to cry plagiarism (such a lawsuit probably would

Coilguns operate very similarly to solenoids.
Of course, the force due to magnetic fields is nothing else than the Lorentz transformed Lorentz force - so technically speaking, the same force is driving both. :p Cheers, LT.

Civ IV added 3D graphics and reduced micromanagement in some parts, but also added new things, like more flexible government choices (you sort of do mix-and-match) and unit promotions (units get combat experience, which you can use to customise them), additionally, a lot of stu
Haven't done modelling for Sins, but I do model some stuff for Civ4 mods - and I'm a half-way decent artist with acrylics and good in the use of photoshop. When I took the plunge into modelling, I found that creating meshes is a completely different skill set, that drew more on spatial visualisation than anything else. Texturing... benefits a bit from painting (because you have some feel for the colours and good blendings or patterns), benefits a lot from being proficient with photosh

And coming back and immediately kicking out a new version - that's cool and awesome! Thanks a lot, I'm downloading it right now! It's one
