Definitely not crashing all of the time for me, but quite often it goes into an invasion screen and my graphics card shuts off and then I have to control alt delete out of the program to force close the app. Then I reload and its fine! Thanks for looking into this issue~

I haven't given a lot of attention to tourism bonuses, but it sounds like some folks aren't too sure about why it is a "cheap easy money maker" that civs can exploit. I have a feeling more balance will come into play as the Beta wraps up too, but what about making tourism more finicky? If a civ had something negative happen you could have tourism impacted by it, such as a Civ being at war, recently had pirates attack a freighter fleet, or had some recent event occur where ships

Great ideas guys! Thanks for the posts. I finally caught up on some of the dev vids and I must say the game has changed a great deal in all the best ways IMO. It sounded like a lot of polish would cover text descriptions and some of the issues with immersion. Hopefully they'll touch up on some of the ideas in this thread!

Maybe I've been playing as the Yor too much : ) but I finding some of the info displayed to be taking me out the game immersion a bit. Exmaple: A fertile Earth-like planet. I think a general planet class type would be more immersive. Thanks. I'd also like to note that I've been trying to keep up with the great Dev Stream vids, but I've missed a few. Are there going to be any weapons that have special abilities? In MOOII there are weapons that serve certain purposes and they might do less damage, but they damage all shield's sides for example. I am hoping to find a 4x game with that kind of depth.

Is there something not working quite right on placing buildings on a planet? I cannot select a tile and have the building placed where I want it. I miss benefits of tiles (I think) sometimes when I place a factory over a space that boosts influence. How do you choose where to place them yourself... or is this something that needs to be implemented!

I'm looking for a planetary building system that can automatically govern itself and build structures so I don't have to micromanage each time I colonize a planet. Even a saved que that I can create would be much appreciated. Thank you for the work on the Alpha! Its really quite impressive and more fun than I thought it would be (coming from a person that has never played Galactic Civilizations before).

So I posted earlier... but my computer motherboard popped a FF code and failed to post on the day the Alpha was released! Thursday morning March 27th lol. Glad to have you back then MarvinKosh. I'm a newb to the series, but I look forward to seeing GalCivIII in all of its glory (after alpha and beta of course). First time with the franchise, but I did my homework and I am looking forward for its release! I have extensive experience with strategy games and occasionally play MOO2 (Master of Orion II) still! An option for more in depth tactical battles was available in MOO2 (Master of Orion II). I wouldn't mind that in this game, but I came here for short tactical battles rather than long. And as said by many posts, this game is more focused on galactic conquest than drawn on ship warfare... that being said it is still a part of it.

Ha, we aren't allowed to complain too much about our horrible drought because we wont really feel it for a few more months and because its in the 50's, 60's, and 70's here. The snow impacting the rest of the country is much more of an issue at this time. Later though, our farms that produce over 50% of the countries agriculture will dry up... then there will be issues with milk, cheese, nuts, fruit, and vegetables : (
