I just made copy of the existing races ingame and changed their background and now i need to start a new game. However, fix needs to be applied to the next patch because in multiplayer i would again get the same problem.

I found a solution to this, now i just would need someone to do a little mod for me because im not familiar with modding at all. If you change all race's background image to pictures and not video, the game stretches the background and diplomacy trade screen is usable and clear after that. PLEASE someone do this for me? or tell me how to do it myself ?
The one thing I actually asked and you fucked it up. The diplomacy screen does not scale to 21:9 monitors. It's very, very hard to say anything nice about this or be constructive and helpful for you guys. FIX IT.
Hello again! This is just those basic things that need to be in the game. We need different aspect ratio supports be available in the game. I believe i'm not the only one who has 21:9 (2560x1080) monitor these days, and without natural support, custom resolutions can be annoying. So please Stardock, include natural support for widescreens and 4k monitors with different aspect ratio's. Thank you :)
Im not the fan of stargate's unless you could build AND destroy them. (should be high tech) Having them ready in the map would ruin the map balance and colony rush.
I have been guilty of suggesting some tactical combat elements here. That said, im against them all. Auto resolve is the only way to go. This means also that there needs to be different weapon types, modules, sensors, boarding ships, fighters, bombers etc. so you can affect battles with your fleet composition and ship building. Example from lightest to heaviest: Lasers: Anti Fighter/Bomber laser: Shoots down fighters an

Would have loved 65daysofstatic music in intro :(
I would like to know who is composing music for GalCiv3 ? Also I think it would be coolest thing, if Stardock would employ band called 65daysofstatic to make their intro music (all music would be even greater). Even tho i have no complaints on galciv2's soundtrack. I think something like this would create visibility and further empower the relationship between composers/bands and game industry. It could be argued that for intro song, band like 65daysofstat
They need to kill the whole idea of "Approval" when it comes to expansion. Honestly, I never really liked it (it's historically inaccurate) and Civ5 put the final kibosh on it. And economic penalty makes little more sense. Would be better to have colony ships take up industry points and economic points while being built. Then those same colony ships travel to another planet and logically be self-contained. The hosting civiliz
For me the colony rush was simply carving my own space in the map (pun intended). I confess, i think i'm a bit different player than most, because i like to play pacifistic style, i never start a war unless absolutely necessary. When AI declared on me I rushed ship after ship on production, lost my "buffer zone" intentionally and wiped them off the map. with the fleet i built in 10 turns (yes, it needs preparation). Then i go back to my micromanaging of the empire and make
Should espionage options be included in diplomacy ? If so, in what ways ?
I think you should be able to overthrow planet's government with espionage. Install enough people in their government system and flip the planet. In combination with cultural influence this could be potential tool against more militaristic, powerful races. However, this should not be as easy as cultural influence. Should take long time planning and investment.
I'm a bit surprised how long this thread has become. I'm much more interested in other aspect's of the new GalCiv3. Like the new diplomatic system, planetary management, espionage, ship building(yay!) and events that occur in the game. I thought those would get much more community activity. Or is this the classic case of minority yelling we want that and majority bashing them and thus a thread longer than long cat ? Why is people so inte
RTS and TBS are like speed chess vs slow chess. There's nothing suprising in this in my opinion. I just like slow chess better. I don't think either one should be bashed, but when it comes to this forum, GalCiv series is TBS and i would like them to keep it that way. All the way.
Rather then having to divide fleets into squads, maybe just have fleets from adjacent tiles be involved in the battle. Like if you have two fleets flanking one fleet on the gal map, you could set both fleets to attack at the same time. (Maybe even get a flanking bonus.) Then you could have other things like a fleet with a long range bombardment ability, so you can bombard a fleet before you attack and soften it up, or after to finish it off.
Action points might actually rock. Just an idea that i haven't thinked trough, i think it while i write it now, so bash it if its crap. In fleet's you could create squadron's. If fleet size would be 20 ships (not speaking about max fleet size, just for the purpose of this example). You could have X number of squadrons in there, 20 if you like (your really not wanna do that). So lets create 3 squadrons: 5
This here gentleman, is a very, very good point. It is hugely important that the AI will think itself first and the diplomacy does not mean that if he likes you like (-100 to 100 scale) +50 he will automatically join you, or even with bribing and promising would join your wars. What i'm trying to say here, if someone would actually finally get my point is that, i think they need to add strategic elements to the game and not tactical elements. Like Jam3 said, +1 does suck. What i want to see is the actual improvement of choices, in this case ship modules etc, that have a drawback. Those drawback would force you to make hard decisions on what to put on those ships and how to build your fleets. <
If playing with legos was your thing more power to you but it had ZERO impact on the game. As to how much shields/speed/etc you could cram in a box/er ship it really was mostly a waste of time and nothing like eve all that ultimately mattered was how many rocks you brought versus how much paper the opponent had. This is not a choice its an illusion and theres a huge difference. And for all of us in the pro tactical battle camp this illusion is
Wouldn't galciv3 still be a strategy game even if we had dancing bears instead of ships?!?
Yes, but there is a difference between strategy game and tactical game.
I take the deep grand strategy galciv3 over shallow grand strategy with deep tactical combat anyday. Its a resource thing I think. I much rather see them concentrating things like AI, Diplomacy, Ship building, tech, production (those things that win and lose the wars for you). You shouldn't win a war in a long run just by being tactically sound. You should however lose the war if your tech/ship building skills/manufacture/diplomacy fails you.
Hello everyone and especially StarDock dudes. This thread is supposed to collect some ideas for StarDock dudes to use if they want. All the posters, please think before you post if its a valid and actually doable feature before posting. ---------------------- So here goes: I have been playing a lot of paradox games lately (especially ck2). That one has a diplomacy system too. So does GalCiv2 (obviously) and many other games i have enjoyed playi
