yep I went from making around 250 bc per turn to around 100ish. It was smaller ships, but it made a huge difference on my power rating. In mid game as the switch is being made to medium/large ships it's a big defense bonus.

Well, Any starbases I've put up are getting bypassed by the AI and largely ignored. In fact anytime the AI wants to start invading my space they "sneak" around to areas where I don't have visibility (fog) and enter my space (much how they operated in Gal Civ 2) Right now starbases have only been a use for getting relic bonuses. I liked the old method of asteroids giving resources to a nearby planet or being assigned to a planet

In my current game on an immense map I ammassed over 40+ colonies, and figured what better way to build a defensive fleet than to use the ideaology perk of getting 3 defensive ships per planet. I think this may need to be adjusted as it provided me with a huge fleet instantly. It should scale down based on the size of map you're in. I'm hoping there's a planned overhaul for the whole ideology system. Currently doesn't w

I'm wondering how the power system works. I'm at around turn 200 in a game, I've got double the ships my opponents do, 30% more tech, and double the colonies on an immense map. I look through thier ship lists and there's nothing special there. And yet they have double the power rating that I do. I find this very odd and misleading. Anyone know how this system works? Enjoying what there is for Gal Civ 3 atm, but man do I miss asteroids! Getting closer everyday to full release and I find myself missing certain things. I don't know about the rest of you but it would be nice to have a bit more meat released on Beta 5. I'm sure having the extra races released would be nice but I'd rather see the game get more depth with it's current game style. It feels like Starbases are still not useful. <
