I am very excited about Galciv 3! I was very pleased to hear the game will be 64-bit and using DX10. Give me a game that will push my PC hardware. I think the hardest part will be waiting for the game to come out since it is probably 1 - 2 years away still. I didn't like Civ5. Civ4 was my favorite Civ game. I was so looking forward to Civ5, and when I played it it was the biggest letdown. They just dumbed down the game so much. The games I played came down to catapult/artillery spam. I didn't like how the cities worked nor the buildings. The tech tree wasn't nearly as interesting. It was basically a PC version of the XBox 360 Civ Revolutions with cartoony graphics and all.

I hope StarDock takes a page from the game StarDrive when it comes to ship building and combat. StarDrive is basically a real-time version of Galciv, and I think the strongest element of the game is how the ship builder impacts the tactical battles. I'd love the new Ship Builder to allow you to actually place the types of armor on the hull in the places you want followed by guns, shields, power etc inside the hull wherever you want.
