I got it to work, I did have it installed wrong. Problem was I wasn't activating the mod via the mod screen, hey nothing in the readme saying I should lol. I had elminated the master folder but the subfolders were showing up. I have the mod working. Looks great and plays more fun that stock thats for sure. Thanks JBD

I'm not sure if I installed the mod incorrectly but it crashes as soon as I try to load the map I made with this in the game. What information can I provide you that would help you fix the crash? JBD
hmmm ok, I've given it a shot, but I've not had much success. I have no idea what the majority of these variables mean and though I'd love to just dump a bunch of numbers in here there are so many variables that would more than likely give me some CTD's. Does anybody have exprience putting in a new ship into the game? I'm not talking about revamping the ships. I want to add supplementry cruisers and frigates into the game. So instead of a total of 10 different ships like 25-50 when ts
BOTF is from pre DS9 and Voyager and movies era. A lot of those ships were in the THG series though. Anybody got a release date on BOTF? I know it was pre 2000 maybe 1998? 99?
What kind of harddrive space do you have available, are you close to the last few gigs or god forbid megs of space? Could the swap file be playing games with your system? JBD
Nice looking new light cruiser. Is that a Miranda class replica?
I just thought a few hundred or thousands actual finished meshes and texture maps of some of the more popular ships, would be of value. Even if they were low poly models. There are lots in the 3-9k poly range. I have no idea if that is good or not sufficient. I just thought I'd add that they are easily obtainable and free and already done. Suppose we get some general criteria from the mod team about what type of models they want to use quality-wise. Also who's in charge and w
Did you apply the 1.3 patch? It significantly smoothed out loading issues once loaded. My game also loads in about 20 seconds when I boot up and loads in first during multiplayer, but I have a 500 GB SATA HD and a quad core 2GB ram maybe its time to upgrade to something heavier.
Where are the ship files located?
Ok maybe I wasn't being specific enough. I have no idea how to go about creating a ship. Can someone point me in the direction of a tutuorial on how its done or on which files need be edited, maybe any thread which covered this before. I have been unable to find any documentation on this. Thanks, JBD
Have and of you guys played StarFleet Command I, II, or III? There are literally about 1,000 already made ships with meshes and textures available online for SFC3, could you use those in a mod for Sins?
I would say you might want to think about splitting it into 4 or 8 maps. Given how the game plays a map that size would take literally weeks to play through. Has anyone even tested if its possible to load that into the memory or if it crashes? Just curious JBD
Hey All, I've been playing Sins for about 2 weeks and I really like the game. I like the structure of how the game focuses on the combat and raising a military force instead of focusing so much on the aspect of economic babysitting. I also love the graphics and effects in game. The map editor is great I've made a half dozen maps already and have new concepts popping into my head daily for additional maps. There are a few things I'd like to mod but have no idea how and I figure some of yo
I can't get this to work I dont know why not. Vista 64bit. I can load map with 2 planets and a start like default and play it. I can see it in the list, and no prob. When I try to make my own map, then I either get, victory or defeat in the beinning. If I try to play it some more, I see that there are pirates in the beginning stars. Not sure how I am supposed to tweak the map so I can actually play on it. :( Help plz JBD
I see it at newegg.com which is a trusted retailer, for $36, Amazon had it with w day shipping for $39, and Walmart had it in the store for $39. I got it at Walmart.
