To address the question about the tactical combat... It is not as indepth tactical combat as in X-Com, the tactical combat is a basic tactical combat that you may have found in games long past. Do not take that as the impression that tactical combat doesn't have tactics it does, but don't expect it to compete with a game that is designed around tactical combat (e.g. Total War, X-Com, etc.) To re-iterate you need only Legendary Heroes (you do not need a

I think the game is designed so as to not let you take cities until late game. Early game city gathering is should be only viable for border cities with minimal security. If they made it easy or viable for early game city taking the game would become extremely easy. I do not doubt there probably needs to be a siege mechanism in place, but I don't necessarily agree with storming and taking cities early / mid game, taking major cities should be a mid / late game proposal.
Getting excited to see things coming along here. Can't wait to get to that new level option the Final Fun-Tier. Although, I don't recommend you pun-ish your player base too much. Glad to hear the ground combat is being considered. I understand it is a hard thing given the scale of ground combat needed to take a planet. Can't wait until you decide exactly how to do ground combat here. When is the next Q&A coming up, I've got a few more questions... or do we
For starters, this city doesn't have any Lurkers (archers) That is the first ones that come to mind to match the other cities. Also, if one were to create Deorcynsse the idea I had would be to edit the Wildland itself and choose it to take a level 2 city from the beginning. Then force the growth of the city to be at 0 (namely a -3 growth). But once captured give it the ability to build a unique building that returns the growth back to normal (namely a +3 growth). A large AI priori

Are you sure it's working as intended... I'm failing to reproduce your results.
Steamworks is the business side of steam that gives developers a set of tools to help distribute, administer, and provide options for their clients using Steam. Steam provides a lot of little services than just games for the individual, they provide the chat software, multiplayer servers for games, a convenient way to update games, and other things... Internet connections seem to be required everywhere which is annoying, but it is a service that they are expecting to have everyone to
General Multiplayer question... Would it be possible to run a server (on a separate computer) for the game?
I'm curious about the battle situation... Will there be tactical battles in space? -- controllable / watchable? Will there be tactical battles on the ground (planet)? -- controllable / watchable? If there are to be tactical battles, would it be possible from the main menu to allow a player to test out different battle scenarios to 'practice' / 'test' out our ship designs? (Even watchable ones) <p style="padding-left:
At this point, people might have to have there specs checked when playing CoS... it may require a computer to have 64-bit Windows or large memory address aware to prevent crashing on huge maps.... Stardock did say they were at the memory limit when they made the game, and CoS adds quite a few new models and that only can push it closer to that limit.
Compared to Terraria... It looks near identical with a few changes, I'd hate to purchase a game that is merely a clone of another game, unless it significantly improves on a lot of the aspects of the other game. In short, is Starbound a huge improvement or is it about the same as Terraria?
Haven't played elementals can you elaborate on this. Please be as complete and specific as you can on the event that gave Altarians blue skin.
In elemental the titans genetically altered many different races with their experiments producing various shades of gray skin (or slightly blue, in this case). The above picture, looks closely related to the Wraith skin color in elemental, which came about due to a magi
You could add this to every unit in the coreUnits.xml Resource Population 1 There are other ways of going about this that would probably limit the number of changes you need to make. For example, you can attach this to each of the blood traits and thus to train a unit (
They all bleed red blood.
Seems Brad has been testing a little too much on these Altarians. I didn't realize that she had blue skin, I just thought it was a whiter skin reflecting the blue from all the panels and the blue hue of the background. I like the detail in the picture including the background stuff. Good job on the artwork.
My first impression of that was you took a picture of somebody in your office wearing a mask... good job for everyone involved in creating that drengin.
Quoting Derek Paxton, reply 105 *snip I don't know if its a perfect solution. But I ran a bunch of test games and they always left their wildland before the above were adopted and I never caught an incident of them wandering off with the above changes. The opt-in beta has been updated to include this change. Let me know how it works for you. Maybe not the best place f
Border enforcement is simply put declare war. I would prefer the idea of creating or possibly funding pirate units (similar to privateers) a way of controlling borders without the diplomatic repercussions of war. The way border control has been done in the most usual sense. Private citizens providing the border control and the government suggesting these individuals are outlaws (probably rightfully so). Simply put it would be nice to privatize a fleet that will work border control, or other q
As much as I would like to become a founder, I would like to know how long you will make this sale available. i.e. will you end it sometime around the end of the year, or is it "ends in Mid November type deal".
