I like the idea of being able to affect the population through policies and immigration management. The resulting race 'mix' of a planet should also affect its loyalty (a planet conquered by the Drengins but predominantly populated by Torians should be very likely to rebel)
Indeed, unless the Drengin player elects to exterminate them from the planet and repopulate it with loyal citizens.
On the flip side of this, I kind of liked how Moo3 showed you the race/species that populated your planets. Let you build a true multi-ethnic empire
I agree dealing with a multicultural empire was not dealt with well in galciv2(either positively or negatively) I hope this is addressed in galciv 3. Since there is a ton of potential on that side of the argument as well.
OK. Interesting how common usage can skew the meaning of a word. According to Wiktionary, you are correct about how espionage is defined. So what would you call the activities of an agency that combined espionage, counterespionage, sabotage, assassinations, and other covert and counter covert actions? I just don't want to bicker over terms and terminology. If any of it goes in let us have all of it.
</

There should espionage and covert actions instead, as has been stated previously espionage is about information gathering, covert actions is more sabotage. Putting funding towards a full fledged insurancy that could potentially cripple an entire planet sounds awesome.

I have been wondering if we will finally be able to "manage" the populations of captured planets? And I am not talking about implementing policies to help population growth either, Im talking about the purging of the filth from or enslaving certain alien species on your planets.(While leaving others) It has always bothered me that in games like this you often lack the ability to truly "punish" another race for their actions or act in character for another race, like the Korath for instance. I agree I always thought it was silly when the ai would not launch a concerted effort to try and reclaim its core worlds, or that the player would not suffer a major relations penalty for taking them I hope something like this does get implimented.

This is a game... and a majority of it is not scientifically sound, and furthermore scientific accuracy is not needed in a majority of this game, so I am going to say that the sounds in space are nesseary.
No, they're just bad with words. It means if you buy that package you get a $10 discount compared to when you buy the game when it comes out. For us Euro folk, the deal is even sweeter; the paypal exchange rate puts the elite package at around €75.
Awesome thanks for clearing that up for me!

I liked the system in Galciv II the descritpions of you empire changed based off of the ethics your aligned with, it was fun reading the descritpion of the drengin as I changed them to a beacon of hope in the galaxy for other "evil" empires.
we should have a vetting for names, this will reduce the stupid names in game
Stardock will be doing that up to a point. As for the main topic. I don't know yet, I may name it after Ceresa or add something else.... Im keeping my name options open at this point in time :D

I think the 99.99 version is actually the better deal because you actually get the game when it comes out instead of having to buy it at a discount, plus paying for the founder pack. (But damn if your on a tight budget getting the funding is tough, no disputing that whatsoever) https://www.galciv3.com/store Now I couild be misinterpreting the 39.99 deal but from what I see it looks like you will have to buy the game seperatly
