[quote] Your point is moot. For someone who 'knows about art' you sure dont know a lot about art in games. The design is fine, the ships look great. There are one or two that look to bland, but it was design choice on their part, space whale. But comparing an RTS's art to an MMO's art (one who just recently upgraded its engine to nexgen standards) is just dumb. I'm sorry. Eve's textures are massive, their ship poly count are just as big. Also EVE's art style is pu

Guys, the main problem does not sit with settings, but more in the design of some of the ships. The reason HW2 and Nexus had better ships is because the textures gave the ships that space military look. I can see the ships detail just fine, but the textures just make the ships look bad. Like I said before, the TEC faction is the one with the most problems because they are a human race. I can understand the Advent and Vassari ships looking the way they look, but the TEC ships need some

I 100% agree with you. The ships look entirely too bland and my main problem with the game (which is still very good) is the way the frigates move in combat. The ships just sit there and trade shots and i was hoping to see some movement by the frigates. They could have had the frigates move during combat automatically while they trade shots with other ships. That is what made Homeworld and Nexus so great, it was the combat and the way units responded to their enemy while trading shots.

Well, it would be nice to have a boarding party to at least be able to board a damaged or abandoned ship to gather resources, personnel, or even intel that could be used against a fleet in SP. It would only help to advance a story or even lead to other situations in SP. Actually, I like that idea better than my original statement, because it is not influencing the battles or affecting balance in the game. It is just a way for players to send a team to investigate a enemy ships or even planets (m

The idea is not to have an added graphic with the special forces fighting the crew, but only that a transport ship leaves one of your capital ships and docks on the shieldless ship. All that happens is that there will be a bar that shows the status of your special forces teams while they try to bring down the ship. The thing is that you do not know how strong the ships inner defenses are (which could upgraded by the enemy), but you roll the dice anyway. The balance of the game would not

I know this is a old thread, but I have to chime in on this subject. I am completely shocked that this game does not have boarding and I think it is a mistake to not have it. I'm not going to get into how Nexus and Homeworld used this to great effect, but it was always great to weaken a capital ship and send in special forces to destroy it or commandeer it. Yes, we are dealing with micro-management and the other ships are alien, but that is a problem that can be handled (special forces
