Allright, i'm back from completely reinstalling windows into a different directory, but by doing this i made the installer work. What i need to know now is: what's the difference between SP2 and SP3?

Hi. I am currently runny Windows xp pro SP2 and I want to upgrade to SP3 (Service Pack 3). But when I go into the installer it says: The core system file (kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file. The service pack will not be installed. For more Information, see Knowledge base article Q327101 at http://support.microsoft.com. I have been to the site and i have done what it says to do. I have Google-ed it but it does not come up with any answers :SNIFF!: . Please

IVE GOT IT!!! You need to rename the .tbs file to a .zip file. Then you edit the stuff there to whatever bootskin recognizes and save the .zip file to .bootskin! I got this idea from Caven1: [quote]A .bootskin file is just a renamed zip file[/quote] and you can guess what i thought of next. Cheers.

Ive got windows xp unstable and alcaholic edition. Not working on my pc though. Keeps crashing and complaining that my PC sucks. It went to counselling but that didnt help.

I did a search on isohunt.com and i found out that it is loaded with 3.6gb of pirated stuff! Talk about risky!!! On second thought, im not so keen on having it any more...
