[quote who="Frogboy" reply="48" id="3590309"] but I'm really curious as to why the lore must be legally divorced from the title. Can someone expand on that for me please? A lot of it has to do with ethics. We didn't create the lore and we do not recognize Accolade as having any rights to that lore. Also, we are huge fans of Paul Reiche and Fred Ford and

Obvious Troll is obvious. This is the umpteenth thread by Mari on this topic. Your complaints are loud and your useful feedback is almost zero.
To the OP: If you want the AI improve, you're going to need to provide actual information. This isn't a 'regular' forum and it took me a bit to figure that out. If you want to moan and groan, you won't do well here. If you really want to improve things, bring an actual comment with constructive criticism and preferably some data. Example: Provide the save game. Explain the basics of where you are in the game compared to the AI overall. Does it have equal/fe

Example: I wish to mine Prometheum, so, I select it from the list and all the explored Prometheum Deposits are highlighted on the map. Example: I wish to place a starbase near a minor civilization but I have forgotten where they live (don't laugh). I select the

Okay now to my sad problem. I used the console command to give myself some cash while I play with some higher level AI's (I like to see what they do and I have just been tinkering with them mainly, haven't finished a game yet). It seems there is some kind of cap on how much money the AI thinks you should have, regardless of the amount you actually have. I had 90,000 credits. I tried to make a deal with the Thalens for a complete purchase (NOT money per turn) of approxima
I found some instructions for the old programs, just change the names for the new Galciv3.exe to enable the command console Use Windows Explorer to find GalCiv2.exe, or right-click the game in Stardock Central and select Open Folder Right click on GalCiv2.exe (not GC2Launch.exe) and choose create shortcut Right click on the shortcut and choose properties Click in the target field and hit end, then hit space followed by the word CHEAT (no switch mar

For benevolent make sure you use your missionary building adjacency bonus with your stadium or other morale building. It has a +2 bonus. And the pragmatic defense building gives +2 as well. I usually stack them both next to my aproval building. The pragmatic building is a level one so its easy to get as well as the malevolent approval building. The three give a nic bonus when stacked together.
Your AI is excellent. GC in general is probably the most sophisticated 4X out there. However, a lot of the things the game and/or the AI do are behind the scenes. The player is often oblivious to how much is really going on. This is why people call out braindead. Not because it is, but because they arent seeing it so they assume i4 isnt there. Or they point out one pet peeve that happens 'every game' - we know it doesnt - to bolster their opinion. A simple fix i

I wish they would hire a mathematician or statistician. That would eliminate so much of the guesswork on balancing things like sensors. I know programmers deal with math, but a true mathemarician would easily avoid these arbitrary "corrections" and simply be able to show them how to do this instead of just guessing and seeing what works.
I would like to see more of this type of content, but i agree we need to be considerate especially with under 18 access here. So perhaps we will get some guidance. My photo editing skills are terrible, so it would be nice to have some content available that's more than PG13.
What difficulty level did you set? The AI changes quite dramatically at higher levels.
Rushbuy has very good uses, but you are correct that it is inefficient. It is more about timing and availability than efficiency.Especially in the early game when waiting for a ship or having it 'now' can make a strategic difference.
It occurs to me this restriction is largely to prevent 'cheating' for the purposes of the leaderboard. It seems that the solution might be similar to that for the Console usage, which disqualifies you from the leaderboard listing. It would be possible to have an 'opt in' or 'opt out' on leaderboard listing, thus enabling or disabling certain restrictions. For me, leaderboard is a non issue (I'm just not that good at thi
20 turns is too long. And there is no countdown or notice so you have to check them all to see who you can trade with. Solution causes more problems than it solves.
If this happens, just set your Global research to zero. Then you can advance the turn. The game waits for "unfinished" business, but if stop reasearching it solves the issue.
I have a feeling it is rounding off the numbers somewhere. So that your logistics total is actually something.g like 41.4 and so it is not allowing the fleets to combine. The ship designer does this with component sizes. It shows an even number in one place, but in the details you see it has a decimal value that exceeds the value shown. So if have five spaces left, you select a component with a value of five but it won't let you add it. Then you look in the details and it's li
So sorry for my confusion. I took your comment about 50 turn limits and thought you meant that for diplomacy too. My mistake, I guess I need to be a bit more careful. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
50 turns for diplomacy to be available again is excessive. I can understand not letting the player talk every turn (I guess?) But 50 turns has a lot of things happening. I have been playing with one race 'Allied/Team' with me, just to see what the AI does. I can't even talk to them, even though we are on the same Team. The ship designer is having issues, mainly due to the fluctuating bonuses. I had a design from a previous game, it became available in my shipyards,
This has happened to me as well. What I have noticed is that it happens when two survey ships arrive at the anomaly at the same time. It locks and cannot process. I have had success in reloading from autosve and finding the ships and directing all but one away from the anomaly. Also note this happens prime when the ships are set to auto survey. Two surveyors which are near sch other tend to follow the exact same route. Apologies for typ
