Hi, expressing my support for play by email. Pretty simple stuff technologically. Not sure why you dont have it for such a lengthy game like GALCIV3.

I bought the founders pack a while ago. I just saw that beta was released. Now I'm trying to figure out how to access my beta package... Update: Nevermind, I figured it out by looking at my email confirmation. Login to https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/ and it will tell you the rest, for anybody who has the same problem as me
I think the Crusader Kings series has a really great solution for emergent narrative. I really feel like my 'heroes' (not sure what to call them), get involved in storylines, and kind of make up narrative in my head. (And Im not particularly creative or imaginitive). Like, how someone will get restless and randomly take on a lover, and you know that shit is bad for your kingdom (or maybe its good i guess it really depends). So your wife's bloodline
So, I'm sure Stardock is hard at work creating an amazing AI experience for us. I'd just like to suggest a great idea to make the game feel more alive on a personal level, not just a challenging level. The general idea spawns from how races have a natural affinity or hatred for each other based on certain viewpoints within the game. I'd like to see those hatreds be passed down to the player, otherwise its just lore, and doesn't really evoke any emotion from
edit; Crap, double post, sorry

If you want a game an emulates the ponzi-scheme US permanent war-economy, I am sure there is some low-brow indie producer that has cranked something like that out.
HAhahah, pretty funny. I couldnt make through the book either
I mean, you guys can 'imagi
Your empire is split up in two sectors Public Sector. Private Sector. I think this was Distant Worlds freshest idea on the 4x genre. Dividing these two into something controllable, and to something uncontrollable, was pure genius. Completely awesome, I hope that the dev team has payed attention to this game for completely showing how awesome 4x games can still be fresh and exciting, and there are still a lot of features we want besides just g
easy to implement for sure, but just let me be able to turn it off
looks awesome I know this is a little off topic, but why do I keep getting a persistent prompt from pcgamer.com for my windows security login user/pass? Ive tried to google it but no help; im using IE 11 browser and no matter how many times I click cancel the prompt reappears and wont let me do anything except close my browser from task manager. I had to switch to my phone using safari (which did have the prompt but
my thoughts?? just.... cool.....
I'd really like to see some changes to teching. Something that I was listening to earlier. I think it was a civilizations interview. Basically when you research, you are researching general categories, and you unlock specific tech in the category randomly. I think this is a really fun and balanced and exciting way to do science in a 4x game. I dont really have a way with words, so maybe you guys can think of the pro's and con's for me. &nbs
I mean it’s a single-player game first. We’re not making any promises to have some kind of multiplayer balance or anything like that. If one race is better than the other in multiplayer, well, that’s too bad!
YES! Finally, balance is fun and all, but it isn't necessary for a fun game. Everquest and EQ2 and Dota2 are great examples about how not caring about class balance can st
Quoting minijag, reply 19 I think you could finish a game in less than a month on average, if you had asynchronous multiplayer, with synchronous turns as well. 4 or 5 turns a day , with 30 turns on a weekend? that would be, around 200 turns. Nothing wrong with those numbers. Other than it's a complete fantasy. Don't expect more than one turn per day even from dedi
why not add all these ways of multiplayer? TO each his own...
Yes, I belive, lowering all the barriers to multiplayer, the better! Playing a game with friends is like 100x better, and anything to get friends to play with eachother is awesome
I don't agree that asynchronous multi-month games are "the best way to implement multiplayer" it's just not feasible for most people. it's good for those iPhone games which finish in a few days (e.g. chess with friends), but unless Stardock is making a mobile app for Gal Civ 3 with push notifications, I don't see many people actually finishing games like this. it would just take too long for a single game (many mon

You say no brainer, but I haven't seen it done before in this type of game, where it would be ideal.
Hi, Big time Fan of Gal Civ 1 and 2! I never bought the expansions though, because there is no multiplayer component. I've always thought your polls are skewed because your polls are based off of people who play your game (people who are okay with only playing singleplayer), and not the audience you're missing out on because of not having multiplayer. People like me, who like your game, but just aren't that into it enough to visit your website and vote on your po
