I'm a fan of SC2 in particular, and while I'd prefer to see the original alien races be used, if that is not possible, I'll still be very interested to see what Stardock comes up with. It's certainly better than not trying at all. Ideas such as cuorebrave had are a good place to start. I will be swaiting the game eagerly.

Dammit, I missed that! There was one day during the sale when I tried to login to Steam and couldn't get it to connect.
I do pen and Paper D & D but with rules via Pathfinder which is WAY better than the new 4.0 rules.
My group tried 4.0, briefly, then went back to 3.5 with some Pathfinder rules patched in, and some of our own modifications.
We already have 'some control' over our fleets...it's the way we design them. Tactical combat people want control over each ships actions during a battle. That doesn't belong in a TBS like galciv. Case in point.
I guess you never played Master of Orion. ;)

I'd like to see tactical combat, but only if the AI can handle it well. If the AI totally falls flat tactically against a human player, then dont bother.

I enjoy the colony rush period of a game, and wouldnt want to see it made even easier than in GC2. It is after all a 4x game, with expansion being one of the major components. In any case, no matter how difficult it might be construed inititally, SoleSoul and Magnumaniac should break it in no time at all. [e digicons][/e]

I agree with Rooks. The idea of complex ground combat definitely sounds fun, but in a 4x space-conquest game it would be too much of a time-drain if you had to fight every battle tactically.
