Yeah, probably one of the more realistic recommendations I've read so far. We must remember there will be lots of Steamers moaning over the price with no idea what it includes. There will also be a lot who have never even heard of GalCiv [e digicons]8|[/e] (I know, right?). There is no doubt that we are all devout supporters, but not everyone out there will be.

My wife's VAIO will CTD at a preset temperature, or sometimes even if you look at it the wrong way. Seriously though, try to set the graphics right down to as low as possible, and shut down any programs running in the background to try to lower demand. And cross your fingers too.

Is there any consideration being given to crewed ships (maybe just with larger classes) with skills/perks reminiscent of SoaSE? Also, in regards to multiplayer, what do you perceive to be the upper limits on human-controlled player numbers and map sizes? Thanks in advance, and great work so far!
Yes, I'm very impressed with this alpha, very slick UI. Not a lot to do yet in game, but we were forewarned. Can sense a ton of potential, and very reminiscent of its predecessors in feel. Great work so far.
It looks like you're running with an onboard video card, correct? I believe the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family onboard video card may have some trouble running this game. If you do have a separate video card, you may just have to disable the onboard card through BIOS.
Please go to 'Help'-'System Information' in Steam and right click on the 'coy all text to clipboard' tab. Then paste all that goodness here and hopefully someone will be able to help you out.
Steam? Moaning on Steam, you're joking right? Jk. Yeah just a couple here so far. Wanted to nip it in the bud though. [e digicons][/e]

As the title says, if you are running the Alpha with little or no problems, I thought it would be helpful to list our machines' specs here! Please use 'Steam'-'Help'-'System Information' Tab for consistency.
Before you decide to start a new post grumbling about the $99.00 price tag and the danger of Alpha releases, etc. Read this post first! I've purchased just about every game Stardock has released over the years, and as far as I've seen, they keep their promises. There WILL be DLC/xp for GC3. In fact, if their past installments of the game are any indication, there will likely be three or more expansions, all meaty enough to be standalones. You are correct in the fact th
Tough call. I hear and agree with almost every point being raised. I definitely know a few who have completely blacklisted Planetary Annihilation because of the price tag, and from what I've seen on their Steam forum, they acknowledge that they (the Dev's) would have done it differently a second time. Ultimately have to tend to agree with OP on this one.

Ah- well thanks for the info. I won't be home til 18:00 or so EST. I won't be running home or anything...
You have to enter it under Games--Activate a Product on Steam then enter the code and continue waiting patiently.
All I know is, when I suddenly noticed Steam updating a moment ago, I raged when I saw it was Hawken...
You can also check it under the account details section on Steam. This is what it looks like. Ain't it grand!

Just a thought; should we make sure our Steam is set to opt into betas under the Settings tab? Not sure if it matters or not.
