ohh thank goodness. I got that too. Thought I had done something seriously wrong.

This is a great mod already. Super excited to see what you guys come up with moving forward.

I like the idea of dead planets having function, like a resource. One could even envision a tech tree of uses to unlock, like a research facility, a weapons testing center, raw material miner, which could include gas giants. Each could provide bonuses so it wouldn't be over powered but add an additional level.

Just read this. I am very excited about the road map. Most of them are exactly what I want to see moving forward. So that is great. Stupid question but in the pic, who's ships are those. They look great.

I hear a lot of good ideas. Was thinking how we could add them. Rebellions, have noticed that there is no penalty for doing things outside your moral alignment. If you do that enough times some in your faction might feel you have lost your way, your not a true good, bad or pragmatic leader and they break off to form a more pure version? The don't trade with that guy he is going to win. I was thinking we might see this when es

[quote who="Yeller123" reply="3" id="3616025"] Quoting John1979, reply 2 They did not join forces. This imo is the biggest remaining problem with diplomacy. AIs and players both lack the ability to fight together as allies against a common enemy. If the AI could

Well I don't think we need to have multiple battles, seems like that might end up being too overly micro managing. Now I do like the idea of going the Civ games route and not allowing you to build on the planet during the occupation time. In this time the other side has a chance to retake the world. It can be shorten or lengthened depending on a multitude of factors. Planet population, your right 30 tile sweet planet should be hard to suppress. Especially if

I was thinking about what makes sci fi movies great and how that might be applied to improve GC III. Mega Events --some times an invader just shows up. It's random for us but its planned by the invader, think War of the Worlds, Battle LA, Independence Day. Now this was already implemented to a degree with the Mega Events DLC. I would like to see this expanded on. These mega events require alliances to stop. Total war games did this in the M2TW

I think it does. I was playing last night and was marching towards a research victory and the remaining factions all declared war on me except for my allies. Though I totally see what your saying. They did not join forces. Some were still fighting each other and this attack was not exciting as I was way more advanced. I even armed my allies to the teeth so we ended up fight much more efficiently then the rest of the galaxy. It would be cool

I agree with the general view that the Planetary Invasion set up is a bit odd so far. Now before I talk game mechanics. I want to speak to my thoughts on a space invasion in general. With that in mind. I see this as a balance of defense and attack. I also see people as self-interested and wanting to not die. So colonies will not fight to the death. Invaders will not risk billions to take a colony. So the idea that people will d

Yes. You are totally correct. Allies are very disappointing in this game so far. I would love to see more options in alliances and it all doesn't need to be based on moral preferences only. I hate it when I am play pragmatic and another faction is good and even though I have been really good to them, I am still taking a penalty that could undermine our relationship? Well I digress. I like what you tossed out there. More alliance options

Thanks DeimosEvotec. I always enjoy respectful discussion among my fellow gamers. You make a interesting point. On the map that would be strategic withdrawal and I think would be dependent on your remaining move points. I have been focusing on in battle retreat but I like your idea too. I could imagine someone placing patrol ship on their border. A huge enemy fleet approaches. Normally your poor patrol ship is easily destroyed i

This is such a good point Pirates should be more like corruption. They should have 2 types of ships. A raider/jolly roger that when stationed in a race's territory it "loots" from trade. The other type is their warships they act like other faction ships. If you pay tribute the raiders disappear or are neutralize. The other ships can attack you or can be hired to attack your foes. Now as it is, I wouldn't mind having Mercs and

Well with six. I want to be able to build ships of various sizes from the start. The hugest ships would be still fairly small at the start of the game. So you figure that for example the Space Shuttle was NASA's largest ship. The huge ships are still pretty small as compared to late game. It would be very expensive and take a long time to build. As you build orbital construction centers, improved shipyards and unlock improved hull tech the hulls become incre

Yeah there needs to be a war weariness. Part of it should be that being at in a state of war causes unrest. It has been mentioned that you can be at war with someone for 300 turns, no real action either way. At a certain point way not declare peace? Now if were winning weariness is reduced a huge victory over the enemy either a successful invasion or a major fleet battle. If we lose its increased. Now in conjunction the AI needs some war goals. It s

Well a luck system is fine with me. Now I don't want to have to chase the AI all over the map either. My solution to a withdraw from battle is 2 fold. A chance of escape so a percentage of a losing fleet may escape the battle. This can be ordered a head of time so we can engage in delaying actions. Now depending on what you did the retreat would be auto determined. If a fleet attempted to delay an attacking fleet it would fall back to a predetermi

This is an amazing idea. I am imagining what it would look like to found a UP, that is an achievement for sure. In early manuals for Star Trek it is suggested that the Federation's capital is not earth but rather Star base 1 which is at the center of the federation so no one faction is above the rest. I would love to create a UP star base with huge increases in trade and exchange of research. AS far as the UN vs NATO question. Either works fo

I hope your right. I love any RPG element that we can add to the sandbox. This adds a little wrinkle of great pirate factions, they can't win but they might just turn the tides in a close war, Like the pirates helped at the Battle of New Orleans. Add in Rebels and coalitions and this makes war really fun.

SO I was playing the game again. To start off, I love Galciv, been playing since II. The sandbox aspect of this game makes it so much fun. I am nerding it up hard, got all my fav factions from scifi battling each other, Federation vs the Galactic Empire with the Cylons and Zion joining the fight. Great stuff. Now having said that had some ideas for expansion. 1) Rebels, would like to see civil wars or rebels rising up. Thes
