I take it from reading here that in Galciv 3 the costs for new colonies is a lot less than it was for Galciv 2 where the name of the game was going green (money). There were a few things put in place in Galxciv 2 to slo

Seriously ?! What the Korx is that guy posting?
You could also have it that you need to have a certain part of your planet's population used for defense instead of the whole population. Your defenders are taken out of your economy etc. Maybe just a slider, maybe a building(s) to have better troops. So your strategy has to weigh more defense verses lost production, research and money.
i never got TA :( i guess that's where these things are. What did the targeting computers and zone of control modules do?
HAHA my Picture is from the cover of Star Control
I always felt like I was getting "secret" information. But if it said anything other than zero habitable worlds I would still have to check it out. I'd hate to miss out on a PQ 25 because there was only one habitable world and I didn't take the time to go explore.
Kinda like the old Multiplayer debates.
Cool. I want to go back to the Galciv 2 boards and find my old post.
Just thought I'd trow this out there. Something I suggested a long time ago during DA. To go beyond the rock-scissor-paper combat I thought it would be great to have modules that could be put on ships to aid in combat. Things to add to ships that in addition to sounding cool would make a difference to the ship's fighting or even have a fleet-wide effect. Sizes would have to be weighed against their usefulness. <span style="font-size: smal
Too many people?
If it got more interesting I might go that route. In Galciv 2, influence victories were just military victories cut short, that is, I won by controlling the galaxy simply because i conquered so many planets. the only time i might build an influence planetary improvement is for one of my planets on the verge of flipping if I expanded to far. I might build influence star bases as the yor to expand their ability. Also, for those that post to the Meta
Sounds more like treating each planet as a separate Civilization map.
I new to the Galciv 3 forums so I'm not sure where we are in the development of the game. Do the suggestions being posted have a chance of being implemented or is it more of a wish list, like we saw constantly in Galciv 2? I haven't read enough to know everything that's been suggested so let me just add that I hope the new game will allow mutual destruction. A very powerful ship with just 1 hit point remaining shouldn't be
Looks great. Are there any plans to make any changes to planet conquest? That is, will it still be: troop ship / choose attack type / roll die / win planet?
WOW I'm not sure ever thought there would be a Galciv3. Just started playing 2 again for the first time in a couple years. Can't wait... what time will it be out? Should we start the typical "what I want to see in this game" thread. Just Kidding.
