Sorry, scrub round that. I found out how to do it.

I purchased and have downloaded the latest version of OD2 + and have replaced the windows taskbar with a tray dock. However I am unable to create a dock for the notification area (or system tray) as I cannot find any entry for it either in "add shortcut" or "add docklet", or when I create a new dock. Its more likely me than the program that's at fault, but I would appreciate any help on this subject as I need a notification area dock to properly replace the windows taskbar

As I said though, it only becomes a real problem when I try to run deskScapes with objectdock running, it then becomes unusable. The

Getting a bit of a tired subject now, but I have new information that may help someone. My sytem is a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4, running Windows XP with 2 Gbyte ram and an ATI X800XT graphics Card. I reported recently that when I installed the latest ATI drivers, everything was running very sluggish and the processor was running constant at 50%. I believe other people were having the same problem. I have now found that by unloading objectdock plus before running dreams the sys
I believe that the major factor affecting whether deskscapes will work on XP is your graphics card. I dont believe anyone has been successful in getting it to run acceptably with an ATI card. Nvidea cards seem to work ok.
Unfortunately still not working properly for me. CPU monitor running steady at 50% and everything running jerky. OS: XP Home CPU: 3.2 Ghz pentium 4 Ram: 2 Gbyte Graphics: ATI x800XT AGP 8x
Me too on XP sp3 32bit
I noticed on the ATI website that new drivers are available (8.12). There is no mention on the release notes whether this incorporates the fix for AGP 8x cards and DeskScapes. Unfortunately I am not in aposition to install them at the moment, so I would appreciate any info on whether these drivers alllow AGP 8x users to run dreams. Thanks
Oversight in what way? If you have a crappy computer it's probably not a good idea to run animated wallpaper. DeskScapes is software, not magic.
Quite an interesting response from Stardock "support". My computer has served me well over the last two years and has run everything I have asked for it up to now, only for it to be described as "crappy". (maybe not such a good idea to insult your current subscribers if you want them to continue to subscribe) <p
The official support thread was not posted until 18 November, 1 day brfore release. I am not aware of any information about AGP cards being released before this date. If you read it before downloading and found you had an AGP card, would you not have felt aggrieved?
It stands to reason that most xp users will be using older machines which will likely have older type cards, although I admit I do not know the percentages any more than you do. Whilst I take your point about holding the release up, my complaint is that SD did not inform in advance the people getting excited by the news of the release, creating disappointment to many. Thank you for your reassurance that once the AGP drivers are available that it should run with low cpu usage.<
What annoys me is that at no time before today have I seen SD announce that deskcapes 2.5 would probably not work on its release date for 70% of its subscribers, especially when the forums have been full of people with their tongues hanging out waiting for the release. I must admit that I feel misled. Maybe in december if and when the drivers are released it may run fine on 8x AGP, but I fear that that the demands on the cpu/graphics card probably wont make running desk
No support for AGP cards until December (maybe). Fanbloodytastic :SNIFF!:
Can anyone tell me if this is a new version or if its still the old 6.03 version that keeps popping up as an update? Also, if this is new, does it support explorer backrounds?
BTW, V 6.10.081 is on now
I wont be downloading it until I'm sure it is a "new" version this time.
How do you get Impulse to display betas? I'm not seeing that version in Impulse either. It did update IconX, IconPackager, and some other programs I have that SDC apparently wasn't, though. Glad about that.
Click on the stardock logo (top left corner) to access options on impulse. You can then set it to display betas.
Version 6.10.079 that SDC is reporting as the latest version is actually the latest non-beta version 6.03. I reported this on another thread and it was removed, but it came back again on May 4. The actual latest beta is 6.09i[rc].179 which Astyanax0 is correct in saying is not downloading properly from SDC but is downloadable from impulse. I expect Stardock will get round to fixing this issue shortly. (or perhaps they wont).
Have you chexked that you have the right version of the skin applied (xp or vista)?
I just updated to WB 6.10.078 through Stardock Central. SC is reporting that I have 6.10.078 iinstalled but that does not correspond to the following system info from WB. Am I missing something?. I'm having the same problem with the "LK" Taskbar. Sometimes when I start windows or alter my WB it will show black & flat. If I play around with the settings in WB I can normally restore it to how it should look. Also in the WB preview pane the taskbar looks wrong. I never had a problem till recently.
