Hey, if you found this helpful, please give me karma! You click the thumbs up at the bottom of my post and write a short reason in the pop up box, and click save.
Last update: Found the main problem. Impulse will note that your system is not running at it's peak due to a low video card. Well, I know I have an advanced card and prompted impulse to revise it. Which it did, and that is when the problems begin. Uninstalling it, brings everything back. Reinstalled it once again and all is fine....the key is to never ask Impulse to review your windows rating experience if you use Vista.
So far so good. Everything is reinstalled and for now, appears to be functioning correctly. Odd, because I used the same install links and settings. Oh well, maybe just a fluke.
Ok, I was able to fix the problem by simply uninstalling. But then, that also means I will not be able to use Object Dock or Impulse. I downloaded the latest version and am going to try reinstalling to see if it makes any difference. Cross your fingers! It would be a shame to end my long term relationship and financial commitment with what should be a wonderful product simply because I have Vista 64 bit.
I am running vista 64 bit, and also lost my start button...but even more so, it wigged out my graphics card and the graphics are messed up in various wierd places, like the control panel that opens automatically on start up. Is there any fix? I have been a faithful member of stardock since way back when...would hate for it to end like this. ~~MMMMary
Thank you everyone! This is going to be fun! ~~Mary
OK, so I am new, but being a fairly experienced webmaster, I have oodles of computer savey skills. Would rather enjoy creating window blinds etc. So, what do I do to get started making a few desktop skins? Is there a page that discusses this? Directions besides "get lost" or "go south"? LOL. Looking forward to becoming part of the community and having lots of fun! ~~Mary
