Once again, StarDock has listened and delivered. Players didn't like being nickled-and-dimed by DLC, so StarDock is dividing improvements to the game between regular updates and new expansions. I like how this is going. I had reservations about many of the DLC, but I loved Crusade and both v3.0 and Intrique look fantastic! It feels like StarDock is concentrating on the real meat of the game, and leaving peripheral content to modders and the Workshop. As a modder, I appreciate this model: it g

I still say the more important point is that food 'magically' appears on different planets. I feel you should be able to blockade a planet and prevent food from getting there. You don't have to have "food ships" as someone suggested, just something like "if there isn't a route from the main supply grid to a planet, it gets no food." Of course, that requires a supply grid, but if you want to have the "private sector" model for moving stuff about, you kind of need that anyway. My apolog

As announced elsewhere, all parts of this mod are on hold for v3.0, and for when my personal situation calms down. I have the gas giants mostly done, the uninhabitables are a bear. Right now I'm playing Shogun to distract myself. To quote a dude who lost his job for shooting off his mouth, "I shall return."
For Crusade I dug into this system. I will indict the developers on your behalf. It doesnt work as you (or I) would expect. i will try to write up a guide on the Byzantine rules on what those numbers do.
I really hope this will be addressed in v3.0!

This mod will likely be re-done for v3.0, at which time I will examine the map issue. Hopefully the other map issues (such as max number of planets) will have been resolved, and I can expand the mod the way I had originally planned to (and had prepared for over a year to).

The Death List is officially on hold until GCIII v3.0. I plan to make use of all of the new options in that version/ expansion. Luckily, I have done the really hard parts already, and I hadn't done the bits that I would need to change. Yay me!

Modding community, Hi! I've been taking a break from GalCiv because it was causing me too much anxiety (I have several major anxiety disorders), and I've been applying for disability and dealing with crises of one form or another. Life... you know, that thing you do between games? Lo and behold, when I get ready to come back, StarDock has announced v3.0, which will have MANY of the things I wanted to mod already in it. Which is good, because I hadn't gotten past the planning s

I apologize for the delay. Between (more) medical issues and the usual holiday rigmarole I haven't made much progress. It seems it always takes me six months to finish one of these things. Argh!

Most of you have probably forgotten me. I started modding this game over 15 months ago, planning and executing the first in a series of mods intended to make the game's galaxies a little more realistic. In the middle of that process, I discovered that the game had been changed such that many of my planned improvements were impossible. On the advice of Gauntlet, I chose to put those projects on hold and do something else for a while. The past six months have consisted of constant turmoil
Running on the latest 2.3.2. Just started an immense, spiral galaxy with your mod in place and the star distribution was weird Tried without your mod and got the expected 3-4 armed galaxy. With your mod in place, the distribution with almost completely even across entire galaxy, which is not terrible, but also not a spiral.
I still have to look into this. Thanks!
Please say that these are usable in the base game?? I have a synthetic race that could use unique ship designs (and some better images).
I'm not sure exactly how it works, but most of my ships are currently made out of pre-Crusade parts (some from the expansions), because I can't scroll through the menus properly (bug supposed to be fixed someday).
The actual number of civs will be 40 (!),
Eighty, actually. I spent much of what little free time I've had recently making citizen portraits. I found a really good repository of truly alien-looking alien pictures, and I went a little crazy. Basically, I plan to use the reverse approach to what Gauntlet does: bring out the civs first, then the ship styles. Again, this should be fully compatible with my

This mod unfortunately had to sacrifice my favorite map, and the largest my poor computer could handle, the Immense map. To rectify this, I have released a mod that simply bumps the map sizes down (such that the smallest map size is not available), and thus the second largest map now is the same as the Immense Map. GPSAM will feature asteroids and dwarf planet that are a more accurate very light grey instead of the bizarre brown used in the game. If I can mod the asteroid ship components, I will try to do that as well.
