Hey, I know it's been months, but I've found a way to change heightmaps for a custom planet. I always forget to take notes when I'm modding and I quickly forget how I get to do things, but here are some explanations I remember: 1. It is impossible to mod heightmaps through the mod folder. All new heightmaps must be placed in your regular game folder, where the original are. 2. The game will not recognize any new heightmaps by itself, you need to give it a little push: &nb

Good news, the /atlasgen command line has worked perfectly. And only needs to be applied once. Here are a few screenshots of my new, colonizable, Venus : I'm not so satisfied about the colors yet, but that's another line o

Could it be " genleanmaps" from this page? http://galciv3.gamepedia.com/Console_commands And is it possible to use commands on the steam version?

I've been running through the same problems while trying to modify the game recently and I wanted to bump this post up to see if anyone had found out a way to make custom heightmaps work. I can make a background image for a planet, but the continents can't show up no matter what I try. The heightmap I've made myself is located here . And below would be a picture of what show

Hey, I've been having some terrible difficulty with the continents. I've managed to upload a texture for the planet's background but no matter what I do with normal maps and alpha channels, nothing appears on the screen and the available tiles are simply scattered all around, not even touching each other. The NVIDIA tool does not work with my CC 2014 version of photoshop. Can someone help me turn a grayscale image into something that will work in game? Here

Now, I'm also wondering if it is possible to modify clouds as to cover the whole planet with Venus' thick atmosphere, so as to give it a different look whe

Hi everyone, I'm only getting started with modding GalcivIII and I have noticed how planets are now using many more texture, normal maps etc. to show up in game. Just as I used to do for Galciv II, I would like to add more planets to the Sol system, including Venus, Uranus and Neptune. I know there are already some maps and mods that do include these addition, but I really wanted to learn more about the image files used for the planets and how to add them in a mod. <p
