Have to disagree with that, have tried 3 more games large, huge and Gigantic, the percentages seem to be the same as the size goes up. Issue I just ran into was most of the races were grabbing all the higher lvl before I was even able to get to them. Seems they have a larger radius that thier colony ships can travel then I do. Sorry only play humans. GW

This has happened on ever game I have started, weather or not I use a custom race, all settings are abundent, with tight clusters. Size of map does not seem to matter, nor number of NPC players. Last game was medium map with 2 NPC players, when galaxy was generated, a total of 3 sub races appeared. Here is my issue, out of the total squares in game fully 85% were 5- 0 - rated planets. Of the remaining 15% the average planet quality was

Well, that worked for about 2 days, then mouse driver would drop mousepointer completely, in the game as well as in windows after game was shut down. Went up to logitechs website and found out how to extract the mouseware software, this allows you to update the driver from the setpoint version to the actual mouseware version. Two things happened when I did this, first the mouse works the way my old microsoft mouse did, middle button, zooms, tilts and rotates game. Second, and honestl

Have not seen anything like this listed, nor reading the FAQ's did I run acrross that these were disabled, so here goes Install game, clean install. Start new game, created new race, saved race. set everything to abundant and large for galaxy size. When game drops me to the 3D view, I am only able to see the small icons for the ships, and the circles that show how big the planet's population can be. If i double click on the ship, the info windo

well, not only do I have the mouse, but a logitech keyboard as well. During install of the setpoint software, it uninstalls any preexisting mouse driver and installs one itself. I think the issue is that the middle mouse button cannot support scroll and the middle mouse button at the same time with the setpoint mouse driver installed. But, that is just a guess GW Ok, using the media button as middle works fine, found another issue but will have to remove and reinstall the gam

The default button is universal scroll for the middle.I changed it to middle button and it tilted fine. Which default button are you mentioning here? the Games or the Logitech driver? You changed the middle button to what from what? I will take a look at my middle button setup when I get home GW

Just loaded the latest of GavCiv, get into the game, try to tilt using pressed mousewheel. No response, I thought that this one had been identified. It'd be a good idea to create a pure black and white A4 or letter version for those who only get the download version of the game. Printing a booklet PDF with background is a waste of both toner/ink and paper. I do have to agree with this, have downloaded pdf manuals that were the exact duplicate of t

Alrighty then, 1 problems have cropped up that don't on XP. 1. If your Monitor goes into powersaver mode, and you have to log back into system, an error "Bad Call" appears as you log back into the machine. After message, you are looking at a black screen for at least 1 min before desktop reappears. Smart Exception does not record any error. contents of Error log follows: Debug Message: Version v 0.77 Beta 4B last updated on: Fri

Ran into 2 problems that may be bugs. 1. In the planet building que, the list will not scroll up or down, you can move the highlighted job up and down via the arrows, but the scroll bar will not move. 2. Even after deselecting the Follow autopilot ships, the game continues to bounce, and I do me bounce between any ships that are on autopilot. I also experianced a crash to Desktop, with a windows error tracking messge, this was while trying t

Saving the game, eithier auto or manual is really long. On a game with huge and only 4 races save time is over 1min. I timed the last one. System is 2 gig pentium 1 gig ddr400 ata 133 hard drive. GW

I can understand the reasoning for the Ambassador status for the final beta, I also feel that it is not fair to all the others that have only posted real bugs or suggestions that mean something. As well as some folks have a real life with a real job and has limited playing time during the week, as well as I have only experianced a few bugs that were corrected in beta3. Just my 2 cents gW <img src="smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab

Could be but I doubt it. I have numerous friends with the 16:9 widescreen that can be setup for 1024x768, there is also a utility for XP called ReForce that locks the REGISTRY entrys for refresh rates to ones you display can use. Dell I believe is the only notebook manufacture that doesn't allow the changing of the display from the widescreen to normal display, but all ATI and NVIDIA have the control in thier control panel for disabling the widscreen setting for normal displays, programs, game

He is having problems setting up his desktop resolution to work with the game. I highly doubt that Galv2 supports Wide Screen. Check your desktop properties and see if it will do 1024x768 32 bit, normal mode. It should have the ability to work at that resolution. If not contact the manufacture and see if they have a utility that will turn off the Wide Screen 16:9 resolution GW

Well, have no idea what version you have, my Microprose box does not say anything about MP, nor IP. Hmmmmmm. Oh, and there is, even if in the minority, a 4th fan, I loved both MOO, and MOO2. Enjoyed Many an hour playing, I also Love GalCiv and GalCix2, for what they are, a highly entertaining, well made, with few bugs, as compared to games that are sold in the main stream retail. AI is challenging, graphics in 1 were great, 2 so far are a large improvement. As Beta Testers as wel

Ok, now my 2 cents. MOO1 and MOO2 were great games for thier time. I even played the original GalCiv on OS/2, Until I really played the Original GalCiv, I had kept both MOO2 and Alpha Centari on my software self and did load them from time to time. But, I have to really disagree with the MOO fans, the only comparable thing between the 2 is that they both are 3x space sims. IMHO, GalCiv beats MOO hands down, Oh and by the way, the ORIGINAL MOO series DID NOT HAVE MULTIPLAYER as part of th
