Shame I don't see any fixes for the continued problem that I've had since custom factions were enabled for multiplayer, and that is being unable to use them at all in multiplayer.

I've been having this problem for quite sometime now (since custom factions were enabled for MP). I create a custom faction for multiplayer, along with custom picture and logo. Start a fresh multiplayer game, and then I get stuck on the first screen as it won't progress past Loading Custom Faction Data... This has also been the case for another friend of mine doing the same thing. If I load a MP game on my own, with just my own faction and AI, I still get the same issu
From the troubleshooting that I've just done, I discovered two things: Any more than 3 custom factions, the game will not load. 3 custom factions seems to get in just fine, but any more than that, it will endlessly be stuck on Loading Custom Faction Data... And I discovered that a few factions that were made in previous updates were corrupt, while others, again made in previous updates, were fine. *shrugs*
Since this patch, been unable to load into multiplayer using custom factions...
Nothing makes sense about his mechanic. It didn't make sense in GalCiv2, and they decided to keep it in and it still makes no sense. It's incredibly daft, and really a silly way to surrender. "O, looks like I lost..." *picks random AI* "Here you go, have all my planets. Sure it might break your economy, but tough shit." "Excuse me what?.. O look, I've got new planets!??" No, there is no argument that can be put forward that would explain how this is logical.
Bring up the console and type unlock That will unlock everything for you. But yes, I agree. It be nice to have the ship designer back in the menu once again, so hopefully we'll get it back.
Question: Will invasion mechanics ever be more than just a 'click' of the button? To compare it to say GalCiv 2, the invasion mechanic is even more dull and is essentially just a window with a button that you click. That's basically it in a nutshell. I'd imagine the devs are not happy with it, I mean... just look at it! Are there any plans to improve upon it later on? Must stress also that I'm not asking for tactical invasions,
I'm of the opinion that the AI is nowhere near the level of the GalCiv 2 AI. It still needs a lot of work and a lot of refinement.
They'll be coming back shortly. The problem, especially with the custom races, is that there's a lot of beta "stuff" that has been removed (or other traits added) that make them flaky in MP.
Ah ok, thanks for that Frogbay and much appreciated for the fast reply! Having had access to custom races and larger map sizes during the beta for mp, I was very annoyed to see that they
So... This was a surprise to me. Custom races and multiplayer maps above huge have been removed. According to a post on steam, both been removed due to instability? I question this since while I did have issues prior to 6.2, I was playing an immense map with custom races just fine. But if there is issues with it, I don't mind, but I would like to know how long these features will be removed from multiplayer for.
I noticed in 6.1 (or was it an earlier patch?) that in multiplayer, other players could watch a battle taking place with another player. Now, that's no longer the case. I'm playing a private game with a friend of mine, and we both miss that feature. Is there any way for this to come back in, in the form of an optional setting even?

Yep me too. Quite slow.
Wow Are those Drengin ship parts?
Yep, all Drengin parts. Playing as a custom faction and have the Drengin ship style selected.
Here's my first battleship class ship that I worked on - <img style="float: left;" src="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/Dpsav/Heresy2_zpsuzdmfqdf
Went ahead and built a somewhat similar design to the Tie Fighter, although I really wasn't trying to capture the exactness of it... -
Right - Fixed my problem. It now loads perfectly fine. All it took was to disable steam cloud as whatever options/settings it was keeping, kept corrupting the game.

Thought I'd bump this up - Multiplayer is still a complete mess as we enter Beta 6 and I've lost count how many multiplayer threads I've seen that have gone into the dust. Main issue for me (and my friends) is the endless load screen for multiplayer. Despite numerous reports about it, the devs have been quiet on this front.
Should not crash. Ever. Well, I doubt that very much, but we'll see! I suspect that the multiplayer issues are going to remain an issue and its looking like it will continue to do so after launch.
Can't say the Civ AI has ever left me impressed, in any way at all. They're average at most, in my opinion.
Certainly does not live for me and four others who have tried hosting separately and each time we were unable to restore a game. The main issue right now seems to be loading a save game.
Completely disagree with 4 and, semi-agree with 5 and 3, and pretty much agree with everything else that was said. I should also say that I often find Early Access titles are NOT fun... and I don't find myself putting that much time into GC3, simply because it is still rather bare in terms of features and balance, among other stuff. So to say that GC3 playability is 'boring' is a tad unfair as really that is what you get for Early Access. You've not got the full product and ma
AI development for GalCiv 3 is one of the things I'm worried most about. I'm worried that either the AI will not be as good as GalCiv 2, or that it will not be significantly better than GalCiv2. I'm constantly getting the impression that AI has, and is, taking a back burner within GalCiv development, or maybe that is because we get a lot less info on it from the dev blogs. I am looking forward to being proven wrong though...
Well, I'm sure if the AI doesn't turn out as good as Galcivs AI we will notice... and we will also know where to place the blame at. I do find it odd, and sometimes think that Stardock has its priorities fuddled up when its flagship title doesn't receive all the love it should be getting.
