I've never gotten higher than 50% culture spread at the end game chart, despite having culture buildings everywhere in the galaxy, seeing my lines everywhere, etc. How to get 75% achievement? Or is it bugged?

I personally found the missions quite fine. Yeah, the objectives can be annoying sometimes. But after you complete two missions, you can usually set up a cease fire. And two missions more and you will likely have an alliance. I find the alliances quite handy, as the AI is quite helpful and won't necessarily ditch you. You can fail about two missions max before your alliance might end, giving you leeway for keeping relations up. Don't forget you can issue orders to the AI to help attack
Dumb question... but how does that work? I mean I thought there wouldn't be anywhere near 54 tiles on the tile screen of the planet...
Thanks for the reply, but there was nothing to research. I mean everything was researched, I saved the game, I made the ship, then the game crashed on the next turn, and when I reloaded, the ship was gone! If I start a new game the ship design reappears (once I have the tech/battle of the gods mode). Oh well, at least I was almost done with that game, and I might leave the ship design for my next game...
I spent four hours straight this evening making my first capital ship, and after creating it and starting it building, my game crashed on the next turn when some damn event occurred regarding finding some corvettes. When I went to reload, my save game was four hours ago (I thought I had saved right after I finished, but maybe I didn't). I checked my documents folder and my ship design is still there. But when I load my save game, it was before I designed the ship, so it isn't there.<b
Yes, I like Sir Arfs a Lot's idea too! I never change my homeworld because it just doesn't seem real to do so (playing as human). To me, there can be no homeworld but Earth! Despite that, I wished I could move my capital to some of my better and more central planets... On the same token, it'd be nice if they made the bonus of having a capital more significant. Kind of like Civ4, where the more central the capital, the better for your empire (less penalty to economy).
I was just wondering if it's possible to upgrade ships that are in a fleet? At the moment I find I have to pull the ships I want to upgrade out of the fleet, moving them each to their own individual tiles, and then upgrade each of them manually (note: I don't want to upgrade every single such ship in my empire, just these ones). Also, now that I remember. If I have two ships on the same time, I have to move them to their own tiles in order to upgrade them. I can't find any way to upgr
Aye, I'm glad plenty of people liked the idea too (though it wasn't my idea, since it's something I've always had in other turn based games). Another reason that a chime/sound would be handy is because between a turn, when all your autopilot ships are moving, and then having to move the ships that completed their autopilot trip, etc, sometimes it's easy to forget where the turn started and where the turn ends. It's even more noticeable (or perhaps a more accurate word... unnoticeable)
I'm sorry, but this is simply terrifying, and impossible to imagine any good turn based game to not have! There must be a noise when you press the End Turn button!!!!!!!!! Whether it is a crappy "Turn complete" to a harmonious chime! It might not seem like a big deal, but it has many perks! a) it makes it clear when a turn has been made, takes away the risk of not noticing two turns passing! b) it sounds nice, and gives you a tiny sense of accomplishment c)
