Yep, I was playing a custom race. How unfortunate ;-) I really appreciate the heads up on the issue. In spite of searches both in google and Gal Civ forums, I was able to find this info. I think part of the issue was having a ship name the same as a Gal Civ 3 expansion....

Hmmm.... I suspected that was how it was supposed to work but it does not show in my shipyards. Guess I will try an uninstall and reinstall and see if it starts working. Thanks for helping me confirm my game was not working properly.
So I have the quest "The Retribution" in GC IV. I have collected the 3 parts. How are you supposed to do the rebuild? I assume I am missing something easy, but it is driving me nuts [e digicons]:([/e] Any tips would be appreciated.
I am playing a game the dreadlords have become active. I am finally at a point to move against them but I cannot invade their planet. I assault with a combat fleet (several) to wipe out defenses. When I attempt to invade with transports, I get "planet is defended. Destroy defenses with attack ship(s)." I try attacking with attack fleets, nothing happens. If I combine attack ships into the same fleet as the transports,
1. When loading colony ships/troop transports, put some dialog on the little loading window to remind us what type of ship we are loading. 2. Whenever a shipyard completes and the box appears to assign associated planets, if there is a game notice in the background (first capital ship built etc), the game will not allow planets to be assigned. later you can back in and fix it but it is annoying ..... 3.
