Not much help there. It told me though that there are XHTML (new style) and INI (old style) skins. OK, restarted session manager and ran the experience meter. Before and after the experience was 4.9 (6.0 6.0 4.9 6.2 5.9) Guess nothing has messed with that part. I can see where it might rebuild Aero 3D, I'll try to remember that for any "next times" down the road. Now so far the only esthetically irritating thing is the menu background for my text editor hasn't picked up the style. Perhaps whomever designed the software chose a different way of coloring it. I didn't know about the experience meter thing. It's on my list for next time I need a swag. What I ended up doing was reinstall WindowBlinds over the top of the install that is there. I didn't even have the silly thing open at the time of the crashing unless SkinStudio shares some processes. It took a little tweaking to make FireFox conform, I run a couple addons to make it "prettier" and now the skin textures and colors are in place on that as well. I think I will restart
I've been playing with it, trying to figure out where it is broke. I've discovered that the Windows Explorer and such have the theme at the top and not Aero. The programs do not. I also cannot seem to convince my Windows desktop icons to have anything besides the default. I'm not sure that is a related thing or not.

OK, somehow I broke it. I have all the places unchecked that I can find that say "Use Windows Aero style frames" or similar. I've got windows with aero tops and no buttons, I got Foxfire so confused that it has aero in the middle and colored top - but not skinned. I fixed it by upgrading my ObjectDesktop (which I hadn't even looked at since Windows 7) and got a license for WindowBlinds 7. Wonderful think just installed so happily and started right up - didn't even ask for a reboot.
I think I fixed some of the problem I was having with my icons - I ditched a program called "IconFX" and they seem to have gone away. I had thought the problems were from a botched uninstall of Icon X (notice the similarities) Now if I can figure out how to fix handy little tab on file properties box that has oriental caption and can change which icon all of that extension or just the one item I would be happy. It wants common.dll. I think
@ Wizard1956 Ah... been updating the old things. EXCEPT IconX says I have the wrong serial number. I've got it in three places, still get the same answer: Wrong number for this version of the software. I never could get WindowBlinds 5 work, WB 7 never even required a reboot (the problem with 5) Just that one software was worth the cost to upgrade.  
OK, this is relatively newly build Win 7 (64) machine. Last I used Object Desktop was on Win Vista machine (still running) So I don't seem to have the original download of Object Desktop. I have that wonderful list of software I have paid for and all those magic numbers and buttons to click for downloading, Object Desktop among them, but no cute button to click to download same. Ideas? Or do I have to go through every file in the old machine, maybe even find a directory to mov
I hadn't tried to run WindowBlinds for a long time, basically since I got my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 up and running. It refuses to install. I uninstalled the old one (it must have worked some time) deleted the directory, and keep trying. The feedback is "Error:File Not Found". The install I used was fresh just a couple days ago. ObjectDock seems to be working fine, except for me arguing about shell commands (which I'll address on the OD forum)
