How about Alt +S, to save the game map to map file. Please see notes above.

Alt +S How about a adding new Alt +S function, which will save a freshly generated map, so that it can be edited in the GC2 Builder map editor. Because it is too cumbersome to create a large map from scratch in the map editor, it makes more sense to have the game generate a map, save it, and in turn edit that map in the editor.
How about Alt +S, to save the game map to map file. A short cut key sequence to save the map would be the easy way to implement the function rather than creating a an interface button. With a save map function, then we could create maps initially within GC2, save them, and then edit those map files with the map editor utility. That would be much, much faster than creating a "Large" or "Gigantic" map from scratch with the utility, star by star by star, by planet,
We need a faster, easier way of creating custom maps: I'm aware of the "GC2 Builder" map editor utility. Didn't read every post in this thread, so I don't know if this suggestion has been posted already. In the same way that when you press and hold down a key, it auto repeats, then when you click and hold the mouse on an arrow button at the end of sliders, it should auto repeat, resulting in the value of the slider auto incrementing.
