No extra clicking would be required. You can either build the part or you can't. Either there is Ginseng for the facility to consume automatically, or there isn't. Endless Legend has implemented resources like this and It's pretty awesome. Much better then Civ 4, Civ 5, or Endless Space's resource system. I didn't realize resources were in this already, I've only played a couple hours and never saw any kind of resources.

We need this pretty badly. Doesn't seem like it would be a difficult thing to implement but not having it really hurts. Once you've got 5-10 planets trying to keep track of ship production and being sure they are launched is pretty time consuming. At least if not an auto launch ship option we need a notification that a ship has been constructed. Launching your colony ship a turn late because you didn't realize it was finished last turn is frustrating.
It looks neat, but when I think about a good UI, I'm thinking I want to see as much information as possible at once. Making the planet round makes only half (at best) of it visible at any one time which is going to drastically affect functionality. I don't think the benefit is worth the cost.
Regarding full map + system maps... no thanks. Being able to see everything without having to jump between maps is important. Having to zoom into system maps would add little but cost time. Hell if we could find a way to manage planetary improvements without having to change screens I'd be all for it. I like in endless space and civ5 where you can see what each planet/city is building from the main map without having to zoom in and check. But
The only reason the counter system exists is to give value to preparation/intelligence and to some degree, production. A powerful standing army is nothing if your opponent can scout it's weaknesses and build a counter army, which means you need to scout if they are doing just that and be prepared. Production capacity is obviously helpful because if you lose your fleet to a counter you can produce an adapted fleet quicker. I think the system works pretty well in those

This is something I would love to see in this game. What do I mean by quantified resources? I mean strategic and/or luxury resources that are mined from various locations (planet/starbase/star?/etc) which accumulate. So I have a deposit of unobtanium on my planet, I build a lvl 1 mine there and get 1 unobtanium per turn. I can spend 1 unobtanium to build 1 piece of unobtanium armor on a medium hull ship, or 1 piece to build unobtanium rocket launchers on a large ship
Ok people are just being elitists here. All he's asking for are some tools to help learn the game. Think of it like learning a game with a friend helping you out, there's nothing wrong with that. Civ5 advisers never detracted anything from the game. They are a tool to help you learn, you can listen to them or not. You can ignore them completely. How in anyway does that detract from anyone's game play experience? For a new player looking
I honestly can't imagine trying to play a map bigger then twice as big as galciv 2's biggest map. Actually 40x40 is more then twice as big as 20x20, it's 4 times as many sectors. So you'd have a hundred+ planets, research would be absolutely flying by, influence and military victory conditions would be nearly impossible. Technology victory would probably be too easy, you'd be halfway there by the time the expansion phase of the game finished. The
