My listed choices up there were just some random ones, but for Battletech, one clan and one sphere house would be best, that way you get Clan and IS ship designs. That and Wolf has allied with Jade Falcon... Oh, and you may just be the only person in the Verse who doesn't know of Warhammer/40K's Chaos legions.

Back on topic I'm surprised "space stations" cannot be made as level-0 planet orbitals, in fact, I'm REALLY surprised they aren't forced to be limited to planets and mining resources. Every popular sci-fi station was either in orbit, guarding a spacial whatchawannacallit, or a direct half-way between two planets in the same system. Such limitations would also clear up some spac
While I don't think it's possible to touch 0-level planets, I would LOVE the terraforming tree to be expanded and the terraforming effect to be improved. For the time it takes to research Terraforming, you should at LEAST be able to move class-4 or -5's up to 12's.
I see a lot of mod ideas like "Starwars Mod, Battletech Mod, Trek Mod" etc, but nobody has yet hit the idea of a global Science Fiction mod... Don't know much on how to mod, but if anyone wants to work on this concept, feel free... 10 "Races", 5 different styles of hull. Choose 5 popular scifi titles, make two races from each title, and hulls designed from what each sci-fi "universe" used. My personal picks would be; Startrek, Starwars, Babylon 5, Battlefleet Gothic (
I actually haven't read any of the background story for BF Gothic, I know from the game end of it that chaos's ships are VERY different from Imperial but with enough similarities to consider them linked somewhat. Marines may only have 3 basic designs, but if the Barge takes "Huge" and the Strike cruiser being "Large", their fleet is otherwise light imperial designs. Either BS some similar-in-look smaller hulls from what the marine ones look like, do a marine/imperial mix army, or m
If, IF, you could get someone to render hulls and weapons... Imperial, Chaos, Eldar, and to a lesser extent, Marines and Greenskins would be very "do-able" because of the data available on them, Tau have some decent designs too... Unless you just BS-up some hull designs, Necrons, 'Nids and Dark Eldar wouldn't do. They have what, 3 ship designs each? Don't even know if SoB have a fleet or just use Imperial...
Hope I don't overflow your forum with ideas, but Battletech is an old favorite of mine, and anything relating to it is awsome.
Well I get no chance at this contest... My local store hasn't had a single copy of GalCiv2 hit the shelf since release, I had to pester them while they unpacked their weekly order just to get my copy before they sold out again.
Man, I could just tweak round in the ship designer all day... Love building these things. My only beef is about the near-useless stock ships taking up a lot of really good names. Oh whell... Can't have "Sniper", I'll have the "DC Sniper" ,much harder to catch (Yes that was horrible )
The Arceans play the same stunt game-after-game with me as well... My other major repeat-annoyance are those damn twitchy Iconians... Everything's fine for a while, then BOOM, they hate me. We trade blows, they get stomped, then they try to kiss and make up... Everything's back to normal then BOOM... Idiots didn't learn their lesson. My current record is seven seperate wars with the Iconians before I got so pissed off at them I annihilated their
Of the things I would like to see added to GalCiv2, highest on the list would be an added feature to the main menu to pull up the shipyard and design without actually being IN-GAME. I've seen many posts of what X or Y person would like to see made or added, but I'm surprised I haven't found this mentioned yet... If done right, an open Shipyard would assist in managing custom ships, especially if it was all-tech open. Players could create s
My $0.03, stick to "Classic" Battletech's era. The travesty they call Mechwarrior Dark Ages ruined everything, but times were good up until about 3065. If you do get somewhere with this mod, some suggestions... Jump Sails NOT having any mounting points. Last thing you want is a fragile sail turned into a Light-Bright House/Clan insi
Metaverse, to my knowledge as I have yet to try it, is supposed to be completely mod-free. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get your ships to work on Meta.
Taking Fingers_9's idea one step further, what would be nice is a redesign of how the planetary building worked. Would need to be reworked at the official-level, or require some REAL overhaul mod, but here's my idea... Once a tile has a class of building (factory, farm, etc), clicking the tile should bring up only the "Demolish" option, and the researched selection of upgrades and downgrades for that class of building. (IE: When I click on
