Debug Message: FleetManagerEntryWnd: Cannot find OBJID FleetMan_Entry_Logistic_Title Whats up with all those missing object id's anyway? Have seen lots of them in the last time. Just curious, not that I would now how to help or anyhting

I read in the dev note that v1.1 now also increases the number of tiles correspondingly... i haven't checked in the game though. can anybody verify this? Yep, it works now. Quite nice to have in the late game when the other bonuses aren't nescessary anymore. Although it doesn't help you much in the start to have more tiles. <TABL
wrong post/wrong Thread/wrong everything (delete option for posts would have been nice )
Your second question has two compleatly different answers. The morality of the choice is universal (How it would be isolated, moraly, to a single colony I would have no idea how that would work) however the actual benifit is almost always local. A PQ plus colonization event wont raise every planet in your empire by 50% obviously. To expan
Well, all AIs research soldiering technologies eventually. It's just so that some of them got a low AI priority so they usually research it just quite late into a game.
Oh, and if you know where the text when you cantact people (IE, Terrans contacting Altarains. I don't want the Paulos or whoever to suddenly be considered cousins by the Carinoids. You have to edit the following file: \Stardock\GalCiv2\Data\English\GC2_Conversations.xml
are you also designing your own ships? don't just wait for the core ships to become available. Which is a very important advice. Do not use the core designs delivered with the game. They're bad. Not usable. Plain simple suck. Unusable. Well, you get the drift. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
If they were Precurser Rangers it's a random event. Sometimes they show up in ones and twos and other times they show up by the dozens. Usually there is some form of announcement though. While doublechecking the saved gam
This is not an excuse. Computer are perfectly capable of learning, identify patterns and think abstractly, and also guess, try, feel frustrated, scared, bored, angry. It's just need to be programmed that way. We are not a long way from that. But generally, who have knowledge do not have the money to implement that. Who have the money is too restrained by the budget c
Yep, just what justkevin has said. On higher difficulties the AI might become bonuses (lots of them on suicidal), but it really makes it tougher and better. The AI also plays somehow smarter then. Not because of better algorithms, but because it just has more things to use and throw at you if nescessary. In my last game for example the AI declared war against me in the early game and just a turn later it's fleets (7 ships in each fleet armed to the teeth, ie. 270 beam damag
i like the idea of mods added to them increaseing HP, i think a max of say 100hp regardless of mods added and level, would be fine. Which still wouldn't be enough for the endgame, when 200+ damage fleets roam the galaxy. You could give them up to 500hp and after a few attacks (IF it survives the first attack, which I doubt) they will be scrap m
and frankly anyone who does is just arguing for the sake of it. Yep. And to those that say: change it yourself. Allready happened, but since I'm playing also some Metaverse games... got it?
the Drath and Altarians Actually, if you play as the Drath you see that they've forgiven the Altarians and have no grudge against them anymore. This is also a reason why they were made good aligned (same as Altarians) in the latest patch.
No, not possible. IIRC that's from a AAR from Draginol. Btw. I still find that greeting from the Yor hilarious. Had to lough out lout. Link
So the bigger the population the harder it is to keep high approval rating? Why is that? Overpopulation. You know, 25 Billion people on earth. That's what I call crowded. Don't want to live there.
No, it's not possible to make those PQ0 planets into something usefull.
What is required now to actually bribe someone to start a war? 9000BC and ALL my technology didn't do a damn thing. Try bribing the stronger one into attacking the weaker one. That should work. Even when the stronger one is your enemy, it should work. <

Scoring in the MV is purely based on population and time, the bigger the population and the longer the game the better the score. In other words its BS! Other factors are probably involved but not to much extent. -J You know, you shouldn't post BS if you have no idea. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Win
I also had this problem some times, but only when I've played longer on gigantic, everything abundant maps. (Pagefile up to 5GB ) Then it also crashed my game on saving and destroyed the save game in doing so... Anyway, my solution to this has been to restart the game everyonce in a while when it's starting to run slower (i.e. once every three hours or so.) ----------
Could one of the reasons for that new option be because they haven't worked this bug out yet? No, the reason why they included is that people (like me ) whined endlessly on this board about the lack of this option untill they had the mercy and put it in.
Well, there is a way. You can go to your \Stardock\GalCiv2\Data\CustomMaps directory. There are all those custom maps. Open one of them with an .xml editor and have your way. Unfortunately, if I'm correct, is there no map editor currently, although GalCiv1 had one (with the expansion pack IIRC).
Agree with all of you, they're very weak right now. Give them something like +100% in soldiering, non stackable, one per planet. That would perhaps make them somewhat more usefull, since the AI really wastes space with them. I mean, last game I've invaded a enemy planet with a population of 1.5 billions in a Dread Lord style with just one soldier. (I've had forgotten to fill the transport up...). I've thought, oh well, my bad luck and I've used planetary bombardement since I thought t
It's not possible currently, I doubt that it is possible to mod it in and it's planned for the expansion pack. All questions answered?
In a civilized universe, the citizens of the galaxy would be apalled at such tactics, even citizens belonging to the offending civ. What if each bombardment caused a drop in Diplomatic relations, and caused an approval rating drop. Perhaps this drop could be a permanent 5% per bombardment, or 30% for a year, or something like tha
