The only problem is an internal employee in a call advised me that the problem lies in the program, not in my system. No I will not release the date of the call or their name. I have had multiple contacts within Stardock on the phone at different times.

While trying to debug my GC2 I ran into an error showing the enviornmental variables have been lost or are not correct. I think this may be a root of alot of mine and other's text issues as the dx needs this temp file to correctly work. Better post your err log so the forum nazis don't jump you. (Even though the err log hasn't helped fix this problem yet) I'm gonna give them till next week then politely ask for a refund. 3 weeks having the game and I still can't see the text. Not that they haven't tried and been courteous when cooresponding with me, it just seems they can't fix it.

Ahhh the usual roving bands of brown-nosers. A few comments for you die hard (unpaid) Stardock employees / beta testers. 1. No where on my retail box does it say I am buying a beta. 2. I have the same problem. I contacted Stardock and one of their tech guys forwarded the problem onto the proper department. This is his last email to me. Unfortunately I have not yet received any word. It's possible there might be a problem with the AthlonXP processor and DirectX. I have a feeling we might be doing some more testing on the matter. Lots of us have it. It doesn't rate very high on the gotta fix scale yet. Apparently the alpha/beta folks believe their bugs should come first before all the customers that paid for a finished product. I sent all the bug info and did what they told me, nothing fixed. I was informed by nice tech at Stardock (actually nice guy) that he would forward it on.... Nothing yet so far. We will wait and see.

nah... it's just silly people like me that buy a game from Best buy thinking it will work when I load it... I mean geez, what was I thinking? I'm such a n00b. Yes I still have my graphics prob, no I will not post my err log... AGAIN. I sent it to Mike at Stardock for him to ponder over his Monday morning coffee. I have a quick question. Beta is testphase right? Occasional glitches that can and will be fixed over time. So what is retail?
Hey Daemon, is it too much to ask that when you purchase a program that it runs? If I sold you a brand new car and it didn't run should I blame you, the driver? Nothing special on my system, it should have loaded up and played after update, so how is this my fault? Think before you speak.
I was on the phone with Stardock yesterday and they said this was the first they had heard of it. I also set the err log, a screenshot and some other info via email to the tech on the phone. My point is simple. You make a product. You sell it, you collect the money. If it doesn't work, fix it. The game works, just no text graphics. All the video and other graphics work, just no text. I called Stardock yesterday and spoke with them at length about my problem. I have no reservations that they will get it fixed. I'm just amazed from all the posts about problems.

I have the same problem. Whew, glad it wasn't just me. I called Stardock and they told me to DL SP2 since I don't have it. (so now I spent 160.00 on a legit code.) Then wipe and reinstall all my vid drivers. I'm thinking now this is a software issue on their end and not mine. Hopefully this will get their attention now so they can fix it. This game is quickly costing me over 200.00 so I hope it gets fixed ASAP.
