The space battles on Stardrive are really, really pretty and fun. But I don't need them to be happy. Gal Civ 2 is still my favourite game. I don't want Gal Civ 3 to clone Stardrive's battles, but there is something to be said for an approach that is pretty and very watchable. Just animate the die roll, as ships get more experience, the animations could change to show that experience. Still, the devs will do what they will, I am just really curious as to whether it's worth the the dev time, and if I am just hearing a squeaky wheel. What % of mac and linux users show up on forums to ask for things? Because if it's just the 10-20 of you guys, its not really worth it [e digicons]^_^[/e]

If you are advanced enough to be flying around space you can tell whether a star will go super nova several hundred million years in advance. But, I wouldn't mind if some of those uninhabited systems blew up and caused communication problems, or crop failures or maybe an environmental change in nearby systems. But if one of my systems blew up I would be pissed unless I was made aware, beforehand, that the star was a little problematic.
