Ok, so i found some info that works for me, it seems my issue is steam related as if i navigate to the .exe and launch it separate from steam it works fine. I still would like to be able to launch the game through steam though so i can access the steam overlay while playing. Not sure if this is a issue on stardocks end or valves.

First off, enjoying the game so far. Still learning what im actually doing but im glad i preordered it. My issue is the game is crashing but i cant seem to tie it to any one thing i do and it only dose it after 30mins to a hour or more of play. I checked to see if there was a mini-dump but there wasn't any. All my drivers are up to date as far as i know, and windows is kept updated. Yea, i realized its more of a stand alone expansion, but i built a new system since i last played the game and it will be nice to run the game at a smooth frame rate as well. Honestly my favorite part of these games has always been the exploration, i love finding and occupying new systems for some reason.
I remember playing soase for a bit back when i came out and i really enjoyed it but i also remember it being fairly deep. I was just going to reinstall it and possibly grab the expansions but i saw they were coming out with a new one and even better theres a beta. Im wondering if i should just grab the new one instead as im looking for something to play with until Diablo 3 comes out.
