I indeed enjoyed the GalCiv2 economical model, but I'm not opposing new ways to look upon it. Building one thing at the time at a planet might add to strategy, if the economical model is changed. I'd reserve any judgements on the matter for the time being.
I agree, I didn't mean to condemn the game if they went to a different economic model, but I really enjoyed

Can't wait. Screen shots are looking mighty juicy indeed. I have one concern looking at the first screen shot and the production status of each planet. I noticed that the one production status indicator shows either what ship is being built or what improvement is being built. I hope this doesn't mean we have to choose whether we are to build a ship or an improvement...ie FE:LH.
I tried this game a number of times. For some reason it just keeps crashing on me. With that being said, the time I was able to spend with the game was quite enjoyable. I may try it again down the line to see if it is anymore stable for me.
They haven't given a release date yet. They did however state the Alpha would be around the first of the year (2014) with the beta soon to follow. So we can estimate that the Alpha will last a couple months, the Beta a couple more months. Assuming the Beta does't drag on I would assume the release would be late Spring to early Summer (2014).
