Start a new game, disable Drengin. Haven't experienced any thing like that again thereafter for me. Drengin's super ability pumps out too many ships for the mid-to-low end computer to handle.
Wallness
A side note: When DA still remains responsive, the most noticeable sluggishness shows up when I slide the screen across the Dregnin fleets. It seems that the graphics of fleets in DA require a high end computing power or something, even though I have pretty much closed every enhancement from the video option. Hopefully this will be addressed in some later builds...
Just played my first game in Dark Avatar Beta1A. Problem: Extremely slowed down in the mid-game. Huge map. The Dregnin is pumping out tons of fleets engaging eveyone, and then every move/click I make takes several minutes for the program to respond, and even loading a saved game takes about 5 minutes. I know my PC isn't a powerful gamer setup (Anthlon64 3200+, 1GB RAM, 1GB pagefile, Nvidia Geforce 6600), but I thought it should be enough for a 2D game? <img src="http://images.
This is what I had to do. From SDC I went to "Tools" -> "Registrater Products", then from the products drop down I selected "Dark Avatar (Expansion Pack)", then I clicked on the "Lookup Serial Number" button and had SDC send me an email with the latest Serial numbers.. In that email, you should get a Serial for Dark Avatar. Simply enter that Serial Number (copy from your e
I wish I could pre-order this game, along with DA, but you don't accept paypal for pre-orders, and for some reason you can't buy tokens with paypal unless you also have a credit card. Unless there's been some change in the policy of either Paypal or Stardock, you should be able to order without a credit card via Paypal. But you need to have money
BTW, Ark, I think you still can run SEV if you change your system language to Englsih from the advanced section of 地區和語言選項 in your control panel. It's too much hassle to switch it back and forth just to play a game though. But since you have already paid for it, you may want to at least be able to see it in action.
You should have tried the demo first...I'm running Chinese OS here and the demo doesn't run either, so it's a easy decision - no buy from me... *It is not uncommon that Western developers overlook the importance of compatibility issue...
Right. Paypal doesn't support delayed transactions so the only way to use that is to get tokens, then preorder with those. But technically speaking, it's not really a preorder once you guys start providing the goods(the beta). Would you take Paypal then? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
How long will the process be? If it's gonna take more than 2 months then I may have to go through some trouble to preorder it now...
Agree with Sean's point that people tend to purchase the perceived #1 on the list, IMHO. I worked part-time with a software developer focusing on a niche market, and we face a similar situation - even though we believe we have made the best product available on the planet, most consumers still go for the biggest brand's perceived #1, much inferior product. Having said that, I think kerberos' reponse is pathetic. It makes them look immature and unprofessional. OTOH, I feel for
Sounds like a nice addition. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the reply. I'll wait for the offical release then...it's not far away anyway. Thanks again.
I want to preorder, but even though there's a paypal banner on the preorder page, it doesn't appear to be an option. Could anyone from stardock give me some advice? TIA...
Experienced this bug after having 1.3A update applied...
I only noticed this bug after having the 1.3A update applied. Does this only affect previously saved games?
