Is there any way to get the game to run faster? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Seriously on large maps, when I hit next turn it takes ages for my turn to finish. I don't have this problem with any other game. I guess it takes a lotta cpu power to compute all the moves. Is there anything I can do to speed things up short of buying a new computer?

wont producing troop transports on small planets drain the population fast? how do you compensate?

Seems sort of an obvious question but I'm always debating between putting down 3 farms on a planet or just 1 farm and 2 more factories...thoughts?

Did my entire civilization simultaneously discover pot or something? Because suddenly ALL my planets went to 0 production for everything - military, social, research. Saving and loading didnt' help. Nor did quitting the game and loading. Is there something I should be doing?

Wow Star Control 2 was the reason I got into gaming hardcore. Previously I had played all the games before that...commander keen, doom, wolfenstein, duke nukem, star control 1, leisure suit larrys... but SC2 was what got me into gaming and gaming addiction!

ok well the 100% loyalty is gone you're right either way...+25 miniturization and +8 logistics >>> +6 logistics... they need to rebalance it and give racial abilities points otherwise it's best to pick Yor as a base race for custom race...then adjust from there, changing portraits and stats

you sure? i've gotten the Yor to have 10 picks and still keep the +25% miniturization and +8% logistics race inherent bonus

Seems that when you're trying to customize a race, you can just clear all the abilities...and everyone gets 10 picks. Yet certain races have WAY more inherent racial abilities like Micro +25 and whatnot. However humans for example only have +6 logistics. Doesn't seem very balanced to me, or is this a bug?
