Hey Brad. Good analysis of the AI. It is a long road you will travel. Do you have an Ai log file that you can look at? To show you why the AI is making a particular decision? If you don't I highly recommend having one. I would seperate strategic and diplomacy of course between each faction. I must not have realized that only one constructor module can only be placed on any size hull. This is ridiculous! If I want to take a huge hull and load it with construction modules, let me ! Remove this restriction please. Then maybe others would not mind the constructor dilemma so much. Don't make me mod this game please! Or I will lose my social life once I start.😨

I am seeing the opposite effect, in fact the game I'm playing I think the AI is broken. I am in a huge spiral galaxy and I have taken the whole center unopposed. I will report further once I know for sure. This is just my two cents worth. But the easiest way to fix this issue just be able to put more modules on a constructor. A maximum of 4 would completely simplify Starbase building. this will eliminate any setbacks with the build. I think the Devs have made it quite clear that they are not going to change because this is the way they want it. it will be up to the modders. In fact there could be improvement techs, to shrink the modules or include it with another shrinking tech. I

May huh? Maybe they should keep it in BETA till then, if they want the bugs squashed. Considering this is "Beta 5" the diplomacy and the AI should be in much better state then it is. This Beta 5 seems more like an ALPHA 5 to me, or maybe a Beta 1. The game is cool, but there needs to be more focus from the team on bugs and AI.

I think that implementing hull size bonuses and penalties would make a world of difference in space combat, and give ships more uses. Weapons ranges and Hull points need to be implemented on a per hull basis and need to be adjusted to representing different powers of ship size. OK, I am back up and running. There were some mega driver/ai suite issues with that board I bought. Now that I have everything cleaned up, it is running like a champ! Getting around 8k on 3Dmark Firestrike Extreme!! Now all I need is a freesync monitor and I will be in gaming heaven!! last I checked the fighters for the Terran's was "Snipers" which is weird because, snipers are a small hull ship. I am getting around and drinking my coffee, I will get these changes in and test them of the next game I play. Can you make a summary list of the feature changes so other people will easily see what you have done, and maybe they will help. It is good to see that some of those values were already in there, that means I was not too far off base with the developers ideas. As a fellow modder, I am afraid to look at the XML files, especially at this point. I know how I am and I would go completely into Modding mode. I just can't go there right now. It feels like there needs to be DECAY of culture away from your home-world, and getting "boosts" as you hit planets and Star Bases. Like I said before, culture is something that happens civilization wide, and there are plenty of boosts to it. There Is no need to allow more than one main cultural building on a planet and 2 for space stations. This should also prevent AI spamming of those buildings as well.
