updated to Object desktop 2008 in WindowBlinds Stardock Forums

well, I just updated my Object Desktop Ultimate and thus updated everything included including WB 6.2. During the install there was a window that said it was saving all my WB skins to a folder so that all users could use them...interesting since I am the only user on my computer but no big deal. After rebooting, and rebooting....and finally rebooting, turning off security software, uninstalling WB, then reinstalling it so that it would work, I find that I only have skins u

Well, the mystery continues...now the widget is running properly, so who the heck knows what's going on with my computer. Thanks to Richard, Mike, and others for your comments/ suggestions. I'm really interested as to what is changing within my comp for this to happen. I think it's time to reformat and start new again...been 7+ months soooo...... Again, thanks guys for your help!

Hyalo 2xWeather by adni18. It's an awesome widget. Yeah, I unloaded the widget before clearing the cache. I'm not sure what happened to start all this...I haven't recently installed anything or changed resolutions. I did go from 2 monitors to just one but the widget was working fine for about a week before it disappeared and all these problems started. I really appreciate the help and comments, and feel like a noob b/c I haven't been able to solve what I did or what has happened.

Thanks Mike, but I don't know which to change...there are like a kazillion different objects. As well, (and I'm not sure what happened here) but whenever I doubleclick on ANY weather widget now either out of Desktop creator or just by going to the widget folder it always gives the 'zip error..' window which reads 'This doesn't appear to be a valid postal code Please try again' and no matter what I type it just comes back with the same error - it won't accept anything (I've used places

Oh, I forgot something that may have consequence - Hyalo weather widget was running but I couldn't see it on the screen...when I went into the 'create' mode to get a list to see the coordinates Hyalo appeared on my screen, and would only stay visible while Desktop Create was running. I am having a similar problem...but with an interesting change. Weather widgets are the main culprit for me and I'm ready to unload Desktop X altogether this has frustrated me so much! I'm sorry Cerebro, I'm not sure. How do you know which skins are WB5 featured? Are all the translucent titlebars WB5 skins? I only know that the stealth skin seems to be 'hit & miss' when it comes to the minimize windows effects and that the semi transparent when dragging windows never works. I switch skins and then the WFX stuff works.

Is there some sort of issue with certain skins in WindowBlinds affecting how WindowsFX works (or doesn't work)? I like a few of the different effects of WindowsFX (eg. Make windows semi-transparent when dragging, distort when minimizing, etc). I am guessing it might be something with per-pixel shading in some of the skins of WB but I don't know. WindowsFX seems sort of finicky (sp?) anyway, with the distort on minimize only working some of the time anyway. But w

I downloaded Simple Vista DX revisited yesterday, then changed back to my main theme, then when I went to get it, it's no longer available on wincustomize! Where did it go - it is a beautiful looking theme and I would like it back to try. Anybody have ideas/comments where it went?? thanks

yeah, icon X worked for me fine for months, then it stopped loading at startup (after having widgets load at startup) so I am now forced to manually start it. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!
