Thanks for the hard work I am excited about the upcoming patch. Your initial thoughts reminded me of a post I made that never saw a response and the thread appears dead so I have reposted it below. This is most in regards to what you think maybe in the future involving diplomacy and invasion. "I know it's one of the major tenants of Galactic Civ games to utilize an AI that is competitive without the need to get resource bonuses, scripting, or other "cheats". However I feel li

Brad I hope the negative feedback does not effect your desire to add your considerable talents to making the AI better. I think Galactic Civ 3 has a lot of potential but with many of the issues it is currently having I am afraid it may never live up to it. I know it's one of the major tenants of Galactic Civ games to utilize an AI that is competitive without the need to get resource bonuses, scripting, or other "cheats". However I feel like there are other parts of the game that w
I have implemented a simple solution to the star base micromanaging until hopefully SD decides to revamp the system. I just modded the ship component files to allow me to fit as many modules as I need on the initial constructor and then made each upgrade cost credits, Now I can pretty much complete my starbases with one constructor if I have enough resources. It only took me about an hour to complete the mod and I am slow :) Not a perfect solution but it beats c
I don't know I kind of like being able to look at the AI's stuff. Not from a tactical advantage standpoint but from an immersion standpoint if that makes sense. I could waste hours of gaming time just looking through each factions stats. Yes I know I am a big nerd :) I would actually like more galaxy wide info like being able to view other faction battles and invasions. Maybe galaxy news like when a major battle is won or a viewable war score between opposing fa
I have a simple solution to the constructer spam issue. Simply remove the need to produce constructors to upgrade starbases. Require one constructor to build the initial starbase then request the upgrades directly form the starbase itself. My answer to Brads concern about shipyard use is to assign a shipyard to upgrade the starbase. So instead of producing countless numbers of constructers you can set the shipyard to a upgrade starbase project on turns when y
The biggest issue I have with the AI so far is that it seems to have no purpose. I can play several hundred turns into the game and the AI factions are just sitting around trading with each other. I have yet to witness the AI at war with itself or forming alliances. Its seems it does great and is aggressive on the colonization phase but then just seems lost. I won a recent game that I set the victory conditions as alliance victory or conquest victory with 11 G
