Ive just realized that Stardock "cross pollinates" their forums posts between the dedicated GC2 site (where I saw this) and the more general forums on TGnet, where something like this may not seem quite as out of place. Still, gamers are becoming increasingly aware of all the coordinated non traditional marketing strategies, AIs and IRC bots out there. Its hard to know who to trust anymore. Two Words: "Galactic Pirates!" As long as Stardock has demonstrated theyre great at expanding and refining the iconic games of strategy or quasi-strategy games in alternate settings, and Sid Meier in particular, this seems an obvious step. In my mind, I am already picturing a game where stardock builds on the ship customization features in GC2 to allow players to custom make their own pirate and privateer spaceships with harpoons
You know, a demo "movie" of someone going through this process (maybe time lasped) would be worth a thousand words ( and possibly a thousand sales!)

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the game along with the rest of you. As is the case with many others, I'm highly enamoured of the idea of designing my own ships. One thing thats not clear though, from the screens or anything that Ive read, is whether or not Ill be able to control the color scheme of my ships, in addition to the physical structure and capabilities. From the screen, it appears as if the the individual races always seem to have the same color scheme. I dont know
