I'm personally looking forward to Spore, coming out in April/May 2007. Don't know if any of you have heard of it, but basically what you do is take a small microbe, and evolve it through several stages into a creature, then a tribe, then a city and eventually a space-faring civilization. One of the great features of it though is the amount of player created content and the fact that it is 'massively single player' - as in, when a player creates content, it gets uploaded to a server and shared in

Considering how successful some of the races are and are not, I have to say my money's on the Altarians being wiped out, as they are just so blitheringly stupid about what they do. 'Hey, the Drengin have a military 10 times bigger and 10 times stronger than us, let's attack them'. I mean, I can understand them wanting to stop evil, but that's going a bit far. As for the other one, I think either the Drath or the Yor, as the rest are either p
I WOULD pay $20 (well, the UK equivalent) for an expansion pack that had multiplayer AND extra features. But that much just for the sake of multiplayer? Heck no. I agree with Coplann here: set up a poll for multiplayer, then ask what other stuff people would want in an expansion pack (for example, the often asked for destabilization option or some equivalent).
Get the latest 1.1 beta, and then delete all of your files in your galciv2 folder that say 'customrace9' or some other number. I had this bug as well, but 1.1 beta3 fixed it. Some people are saying that the betas are causing bugs, but personally I haven't come across anything bad from them. Download them, they'll make your game a heck of a lot better.
Just uncheck the 'only display full battles wihen both sides are fleets' option. Then, if you have full battles on, all battles will go to a different screen and your ships and theirs will fly around shooting each other.
SpathiDiscriminator , how do you access the 'don't remove weapons, engines, etc with upgrade' mode? I've never seen an option for it.
I can't believe someone would say a company WANTS its game pirated... why on earth would any company want that??? Stardock's way of doing things is almost impossible to hack, so I really wish people would stop slandering it.. Looking forward to many more decent (and hopefully still un-pirated!) games.
There's still a bug where you lose your basic race bonuses (excluding miniturization and logistics) when you choose bonuses with points, when setting up the game. It's about the only bug I seem to have left.
Sorry about the triple post.. stupid bad connection.
Will the bug where you lose basic race bonuses when choosing point bonuses be fixed? It's causing me and many other people a lot of problems.

Just wondering... is the bug that some people have when they lose their basic race bonuses (not point bonuses) when chooing new point bonuses going to be fixed in the patch?
Basic race bonuses (as in, those that canno be changed) disappearing after adding further bonuses. At the moment, the only way to fix this is working out what bonuses you want and then adding it into the 'customraceX' files. Oddly, though, the logistics bonus is the only one that doesn't disappear.
Annoying bug: With some races (such as the Altarians), if you choose a bonus with you points, the racial bonuses disappear! This happens for me on the Altarians, it may also do it on others, I'm not sure. Is there any way to fix it and could you please fix it in the next patch?
