How did you unistall it, through SD central or Windows? The add/remove programs in windows doesn't come close to removing all files a program puts on, or any changes to the system, it only removes key components so the program appears gone. There are programs that can be purchased or DLed at www.download.com that REALLY remove programs, as if they were never installed. This may be too late but DO NOT USE SYSTEM RESTORE!!!! This is a known problem with XP, go to microsoft's website, it requires a fix to be downloaded. Unless you know how to....nevermind you wouldn't be asking if you understood the manual way...no offense meant by the way.

Does it come back on it's own too, or stay default cursor until you go change it back? When it reverts to default, do you try ctrl+shift+c and see if that brings it back like it's supposed to? You aren't maybe hitting the shift button when trying to copy with ctrl+c key command are you? When it reverts, open your mouse settings, then the CXP tab, is that little "disable all" box checked? How many other programs do you have running at the time.

Ok when you start up your computer, you get your bootscreen, then your logon screen...is there a setting to get it to stop at the logon screen instead of going straight to Windows.
