Well, I managed to replicate almost exactly what I wanted. Even though I had to resculpt a fake start menu, I feel I've got a perfect desktop object now. Thanks for recommending DesktopX to me, it's a great program, now here are my results ... http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktoppng7da.png

Are there any 'permanent' fix solutions, as in ones which will stay on my desktop through thick & thin P.S. I was looking for more something I wouldn't have to customize and play around with, as I don't seem to be the kind of guy to challenge the artistic side of my brain. But yet I am looking for something to match the same theme and colours as CDII.</font

But how could such an interesting idea like this go unheard of ... I would 'murder' for something exactly like I've defined. A moveable docking station where I can store quick shortcuts to necessary programs, and the system control buttons.

Alrighty, do you have any ideas on how I could go about "compacting" my start menu ? When you say it was 'floating' out there just for the screenshot, do you mean as in artistically touched up as in copy & paste?

Well, basically since I downloaded this windowblinds theme, I've been downloading all of the accessories. I had basically everything I required till I saw this screenshot (i'll post it below ) Except, the creator of the theme shows no mention as to what it is called, so if any of you have any idea on the name, or even a possible guess I'd love to hear it P.S. It's almost exactly the same as a "floating" start menu "dock" I should say.
