It seems some people have a hard time accepting that tactical combat means less strategy. I guess it's the same people that would argue Europa Universalis 4 would be a better strategy game if it had Total War-style combat. They would write posts in the forums there saying: Wouldn't that be awesome to combine EU4 and Total War? Wow, it would be the best game ever made dudes...." They don't seem to understand tac

Arrange ships into fleets. 3. Watch my fleets do battle with enemy fleets using a (hopefully much better) combat viewer. If people want ship by ship, and gun by gun control, there's other games for that.
Actuall
Personally I try to avoid to use Wikipedia by itself as a source of information, like an encyclopedia it is a good way to get quick facts but you still want to verify these facts with an outside source, However, since you yourself are using Wikipedia, I am just going to stick what they have to say on the matter: "A "shoot 'em up", also known as a "shmup" or "STG", is a game in which the protagonist combats a large number of enemies by shooting at them while dodging their
I agree with what you just said except for one major point:
5. A shoot-em-up, by common usage, is a game where you directly control what units are shooting at what. It's going back pretty far, but both PTO and PTO II were completely turn based shoot-em-up games. Maneuvering individual ships (and in PTO, air wings) and choosing what they shot at and when was the defining characteristic of the combat system.
Commo
Question, what is the violet cylinder tanks at the bottom right; if that is the space port, than what is the little purple thing to the middle left that just takes one square? Also, if you had planet squares to develop I would think you would need a selection to choose from, not just Farming. Perhaps Farming, mining (industry needs a lot of resources), and private/rural (boost population (thus taxes too) but drains food supply less than urban residential).
Martok pretty much covered the AI in Armada 2526. It gets the job done and done well, though you won't be writing home about it either. As for the question of the OP: I been playing: FE:LH Civ 5 (with both expansions) Armada 2526 (with Supernova), though I have started a game of GCII since the announcement of GCIII.

At first being thought it was a meteorite, they later discover that the object is a near indes
What Wintersong said, also I think there has been someone who confirmed they were able to 'upgrade' (as in the old one was cancelled so they can do the Elite Founder Pre-order). So I don't think you will have much of a problem and they will be happy to help. From a business perspective, why wouldn't you let your customer buy the more expensive package after the initial fact. The: "no you got to buy it again and keep the other one," is definitely not a smart b
Despite I did get Elite Founder, I don't think I will name a star. For some reason I don't think I can come up with one that would sound good and make Stardock happy at the same time ;).
@Martok, how difficult to master is the tactical combat part of Armada2526? To what extent is this a clickfest? That is something that I found less appealing about the game. Is there an auto resolve option and how does it work? Are the outcomes consistent/fair?
I am not Martok, but I am can answer! (Also nice to see another Armada 2526 fan *brofist Martok*) It is very none clickfest.
