Hm, they had the same action in July and claimed it ends on July 31st. ... so there is no rush. It seems like the people are finally realizing that Axialis tools are pretty outdated. IcoFX, Greenfish Icon Editor, PixelFormer or RealWorld Cursor Editor (my tool) are freeware AND superior in many was to IconWorkshop/CursorWorkshop. If you want paid quality - layers with styles, proper resampling, 3D icons, Axialis is no longer the right source...

OK, thanks for the info. With so many different crashes, I am guessing something fundamental is going on, maybe it interferes with some software on your PC. I tried installing WindowBlinds in VMWare, but it froze the screen of the VM. I do not want to risk my main PC (I am a bit paranoid about software that does such a big changes to OS), but I'll try it on some older piece of hardware. Anyway, thanks again for the feedback, it is very important when releasing a new app.

It shows in add-remove CP under its full name "RealWorld Paint.COM". Maybe the configuration was somehow corrupted. Though it seems unlikely. If you run the main executable with /manage switch (C:\.....\RWPaint.exe /manage), a different dialog pops up. Hit the Reset Config button and close it. I'll try installing a WindowBlinds, CursoFX and RightClick to see if it crashes...

Yes, gradient works differently. It is not a tool, but rather a fill style. If you activate it, and then draw for example a rectangle, it will fill the rectangle with a gradient or pattern. It is different - I am trying to make things simpler. Not sure if I am sucessfull in that, but I am trying.

Thumbnail extractor for .ico files is broken (well, not really, there is actually no good reasong why it should be perfect, because .ico files are not useful on their own for normal users). Just ignore the thumbnails. And AFAIK the size in list view cannot be changed; in Vista it is determined by your set DPI, hence you can have for example 20x20 icons if you set resolution to 120 DPI. It has one of the most customizable PNG->ico conversion (any number of formats generated, apply per image sharpening/drop shadows, supports gamma correction during conversion, can remove empty borders and reserve space for shadows, detect background color) ... and that all also in batches.

If you are viewing the icon in Explorer, do not trust what you see. Explorer just picks the last image in the icon and displays it. It will look OK (if the icon is OK) if you use the icon to customize a folder or file type or whatever.

small icons are tricky. It might be a good idea to simplify the original image for the small version. Another thing that could help with the edges is a drop shadow effect. And finally, a resampling algorithm that respect gamma correction would give you better results.
