Although the Empire-wide manufacturing power is cool, i was hoping that such superfactory would have been some sort of Star Forge. Basically a self-sustaining 100 manufacturing shipyard that could churn out preset spaceship designs.
Cikomyr
Ohh.. thanks a lot!
I recently discovered this precursor space station in the middle of space at the tri-border between me, the Yor and another specie. I was wondering what is the impact of such structure?
1- We should be allowed to destroy ships freely, even when not at war. So you can freely get rid of certain... interlopers who you dislike coming close to your territory. 2- The notion of "territory" is, always, ever, SUBJECTIVE. You shouldn't have "territory" spawning on its own. Borders has to be agreed upon by your neighbors. For example, you could get into an agreement with your neighbor that you will not blow their ship outa the sky as long as they do n
Take a look at the recent Space Combat gameplay!!
It would certainly be nice if we had "intelligent events"; events that happen or are based on the game's current political situation.
Looks nice, but at this rate it is not going to make the goal.
They will release a gameplay trailer on sunday, and will start a new heavy marketing campaign across gamer websites once that is out. They hope that it will stimulate the pledges. I hope to get a job before the next 40 days, so I can throw 75$ at them myself. I SOOOO much want that game to succeed. Just look at what they intend to do with t
You've got a point there, but on the other hand Civilization is pretty much the only strategy game EVERYONE knows and I still think it conveys a sense of "a-game-like-gal-civ-only-fantasy". I'm no marketeer though, it's just what I came up with. I'm fine with Stardock sticking to the elemental brandname. It'll always remind me of the way they turned a disappointment into a great game.
I remember clearly ho
Maybe do something to tie it in with the galactic civilizations brand? Make it into magic civilizations or fantasy civilizations or legendary civilizations (or elemental civilizations even)? You'd get Fantasy civilizations - WOM, Fantasy civilizations - FE, Fantasy civilizations - LH and so on. Regardless, I was quite pissed when WOM came out and sucked (i'd really looked forward to it and was
I didn't knew there was a gameplay strategy that didn't called for wiping out Miriam as soon as possible. The bitch always had it coming.
Yes. As in there isn't "good" and "evil" like that anymore. It's a different system that's more specific.
OH!!! THAT MEANS SOCIAL POLICIES!! CivV-style!! YES YES YES!!!!! [e digicons]:dur:[/e] [e digicons]:dur:[/e] [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
OLD Stardock (pre-War of Magic) would have the alpha right now. But no, we are waiting until it's a bit further along. I don't want to make any promises but I would expect early 2014.
Psss.. what are you doing?! I hope it's not anymore of those silly "learning from our mistakes" deal? [e digicons]*_*[/e]
We've taken a different track in GalCiv III than that.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! You are ruining what made GalCiv so.. soo.... GALCIV Good for you. Alwyays thought it was a clunky and relatively arbitrary mechanic.
My Yor games always have been my favourite. I remember a game where the Krox got exterminated early and the bloody Drengin CONVERTED to good [e digicons]:'([/e] I proceeded to exterminate all those meatbags in one gigantic epic war. Idealist-Opportunist would probably be a better way of naming Good vs. Evil A chaos-law scale (Authoritarian-Anarchic) would also be interesting. Am currently re-watching Babylon 5, and the Law-Chaos conflict is the crux of the show.
To clarify, I'm not saying that all of explored space should remain visible, just within your borders. So sensors wouldn't be useless for exploration.
I dislike the idea.
By the way: I an renouncing the rights to any royalties if Stardock decides to pick up Masters of Elemental [e digicons]^_^[/e] I'd be happy to be offered a job, if they somehow need help on their marketing, finance or creative department.
Enemy ships probably shouldn't be able to walk up to your front door unnoticed.
Not if you take precaution. How about deploying Listening Posts/Spy outposts along your borders? You don't magically see what's inside your own borders. If you can't bother defending your way home, the game shouldn't do it for you. Crippling your eyes should be an
While I understand your concerns, I would rather we do not have full visibility within cultural borders. Otherwise, how could ships infiltrate?
Comments like this were understandable in the days and weeks after Civ V's launch. But now they sound kind of ridiculous. Civ V with it's expansions is fantastic. Remember, Civ IV wasn't perfect until it was tweaked with expansions (warlords, BTS)...
Plus, people complaining about the AI of CivV don't understand that the very reasn Civ4's AI was great in comparison

How about the capacity for the major players to PROVOKE events and major events? Civ5 debacle? What the fuck are you talking about? CivV sold way more than Civ4 ever did.
