I gotta tell you, I didn't even realize how much I love and miss Grandpa until I got to see him again, briefly, this summer. He is a great guy. And this is a great article. Thanks!

There was a movie about Satan vs. Santa Claus a looong time ago on Mystery Science Theater 3000, but I don't remember the title. Very weird. My personal favorites are the original "Star Wars" trilogy. The most high falutin' B-movies ever! [e digicons][/e]

She was a beauty. I guess I should kinda apologize for all the crying when she had to go. But, hey, I was only 6 or 7!

Oh, thank you for writing this, Daddy! She was great and I still think about her quite a bit. Hey, Toothache - I thought you didn't like my doggy at all. You big softie!

I use a half and half water/vinegar solution to dissinfect counters and it can kill odors in upholstery and carpets, kinda like febreeze. Citrus rinds will freshen up a garbage disposal. just john- will your weed killer damage grass, or is it just for edges and walks?

Hey Mama! ;) It's like with hobbies. They can require a lot of effort, can be time consuming, frustrating, and expensive, etc. But, we enjoy the challenge, relish the process, and never once think we are working.

I absolutely agree with everything you said about this movie. Bad acting, horrible skull prop, all around campy. But, call me crazy, I kinda liked it. The dialogue is awful and the details left in the dust. But, deep down, it's a good story, and th

My oldest is a big animal fan. A couple years ago my kids and I spent a day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with my Mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We came upon the Okapi and my MIL and SIL were discussing how strange looking it was and wondering what it could be, when my little girl piped up "Look, Mommy an Okapi" and proceeded to tell us all about it. She was in Kindergarten or first grade. She wants to be a zoologist, too. We like Okapis!&nbs

Hey, thanks! The first time I saw one of these on the TV I had a hard time believing it was real. What a strange critter, and not just because of it's crazy nose. Great series.
This next creature was prompted by MamieLady, who I only saw around once- must be a lurker
yup.

i like to read "A Christmas Carol" every year. i also make the kids watch the "Muppet Christmas Carol" with me. and "Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas" I'm not big on Rudolf, but i love muppets. we also bake lots of yummy things. pumpkin bread, almond puff pastry, cashew toffee, etc, and we always leave a plate of cookie press cookies for Santa, who always makes a big mess of the snacks we leave. spilt milk, cookie crumbs every
