They are stationary. In fact, one screen shot I seen had multiple planets on the same orbit (if they actually had orbits in the game, I mean).

I would personally like to see a Dev journal on why custom maps are so hard to do. I just dont see why it would be a pain, and I like to learn, so if they could clear that up for me and others that are also curious, that would be great

I agree 100% You would think that the UP would be more interactive. In GC1 I never really got that feeling like I was actually really apart of a galactic council. It was more like... "Oh.. UP meeting coming up next month. Got to buy influence this turn so I have some say in what ever random proposal comes up" Yea, the UP council is one of the few features the devs need to work on more, along with the invasion system

The only real challenge there is the dialoug. It would be great if it could be done though. Creat your own custom race, and then fight against them. Perhaps you could choose which AI script they use.

Wow.. thanks for clearing that up for me. So I shouldnt be in too big of a hurry to get my PC upgraded, but it would be a good idea within the next 6 months. Im just glad I'll be able to play GC2 without a problem (other than adjusting the anti-aliasing)

And it is now out of date? Please tell me that I am mistaken, and that I will have no problem running GC2 in all of its glory (but dont lie)

Okay well to answer your question on Random Events more specificly... There are events like the I-League. What happens is that a bunch of star systems (or in GC2's case, just planets) break away from all of the major empires and becomes a new minor race called the League of Independant Nations (I-League for short).
